The car show field at the 2024 Hemmings Musclepalooza event at Maple Grove Raceway was exactly what you would expect to see: a colorful mix of some of the most notable and notorious muscle-packed machines of old and late-model. Despite the somewhat cold and dreary start to the morning, enthusiasts poured in through the gates and set up for the day. Hemi-powered royalty, big-block Buicks, Fords old and new, and even an AMC “The Machine” parked up. Owners chatted with spectators, eager to show off the details of their cars. Where else would you expect to see a bottle of Oldsmobile’s Turbo-Rocket fluid, or the full drag-racing history of a 4-4-2 in photos, or a Cougar Eliminator in Grabber Green posted up on the edge of a field like a wallflower?
