Over the weekend, Lucasfilm released a new trailer<\/a> for The Acolyte<\/em><\/strong><\/a> to celebrate Star Wars Day. There was a good amount of new footage shared in that trailer.<\/p>\n

For those of you who went to see the re-release of The Phantom Menace in theaters this weekend, there was a sneak peek of The Acolyte shared that featured a fight scene between Amandla Steinberg<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s Jedi killing character and Carrie-Anne Moss<\/strong>\u2019s Jedi character.<\/p>\n

Today we\u2019ve got a new poster to share with you featuring all of the main characters in the series including the mysterious new villain revealed in the recent trailer. <\/p>\n

I know some fans aren\u2019t excited about this show, but Carrie Anne Moss plays a badass Jedi character in this show, and I\u2019m up for that! <\/p>\n

The story is described as \u201ca mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era.\u201d The High Republic is set 100 years before the Skywalker Saga begins.<\/p>\n

Amandla Steinberg<\/strong><\/a> plays a former Padawan and dangerous warrior who is hunting down and killing Jedi.<\/p>\n

In The Acolyte<\/em>, \u201cAn investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master (Lee Jung-jae) against a dangerous warrior from his past (Stenberg). As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems\u2026.”<\/p>\n

Showrunner Leslye Headland<\/strong> <\/a>promises <\/a>that The Acolyte<\/em> will be “packed” with nods to pretty much every era in Star Wars<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The series also stars Squid Game<\/em>\u2019s Lee Jung-jae<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>stars as Jedi Master Sol, Manny Jacinto<\/strong>, Jodie Turner-Smith<\/strong>, Rebecca Henderson<\/strong>, Charlie Barnett<\/strong>, Dean-Charles Chapman<\/strong>, Carrie-Anne Moss<\/strong>, Margarita Levieva<\/strong>, Joonas Suotamo<\/strong>, and Amy Tsang<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Acolyte<\/em> will have eight episodes in total, with Headland, Garcia Lopez, and Kogonada directing episodes of the series. It\u2019s set to premiere on June 4, 2024, on Disney+.<\/p>\n
