It&#8217;s been adapted into a movie not once, but three times (albeit with diminishing returns, if we&#8217;re being honest). Even the most die-hard King fans would be <a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/celebrities\/stephen-king-doesnt-need-a-lighter-to-gently-roast-maga-extremists-to-a-crisp\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hard-pressed to defend<\/a> the cinematic incarnations of this particular tale. The first film, released in 1995 and starring Robert Englund of Freddy Krueger fame, was a critical and commercial flop. It&#8217;s the idea that even the most boring, mundane parts of our lives can be twisted into something straight out of a nightmare. Thus, when you&#8217;ve created an evergreen nightmare that continues to be a running trope in films, you can <a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/celebrities\/some-idiot-told-stephen-king-that-he-used-to-be-a-good-author-and-immediately-regretted-it\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">chuckle at your own genius<\/a>, but never question it, not even in jest.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">That story has haunted me for 40 years. Conservative commentator Jesse Waters, in a bizarre attempt to praise Donald Trump, somehow dragged <strong>Mark<a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/tag\/Mark-Hamill\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> Hamill<\/a><\/strong> into the mix from a faraway galaxy on Fox News.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-quote-icon\">\n<p>&#8220;The thing with Trump is, he was the star\u2014you didn&#8217;t need to bring in other celebrities to enhance his presence. Mark Hamill? What&#8217;s his status now? A B-list, C-list? It&#8217;s just not a good look.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><cite>Jesse Waters<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Does Jesse seriously consider a good look to be an ill-fitting suit and a smug grin?
