mins<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Paramount<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m going to admit something here that you may find hard to believe.\u00a0 Except for the few episodes of \u201cThe Office\u201d I have not seen anything directed by John Krasinski.\u00a0 WHAT?\u00a0 YOU NEVER SAW \u201cA QUIET PLACE???\u201d\u00a0 No.\u00a0 I heard great things but never got around to seeing it.\u00a0 However, I did see Krasinski\u2019s latest effort from behind the camera and I highly recommend it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Bea (Fleming) is a young girl with a lot on her mind.\u00a0 Still mourning the passing of her mother she is sent to live with her grandmother (Fiona Shaw) while her father (played by writer\/director Krasinski) is in the hospital undergoing tests.\u00a0 Heartbroken and lonely she stumbles onto someone who shares her emotions.\u00a0 Well, not exactly some \u201cone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A rare family themed film that will actually appeal to the entire family, \u201cIF\u201d \u2013 which stands for \u201cimaginary friend\u201d is a tale that anyone who had an imagination as a child can enjoy.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>While spying him out of the corner of her eye, Bea follows Blue (voiced by Carell), back to her apartment building and to an apartment on the top floor.\u00a0 Intrigued she knocks and is introduced \u00a0to Cal (Reynolds), a man whose job is to reunite other IF\u2019s with their now grown childhood friends who, for whatever reason, have forgotten them.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-143015\" src=\"https:\/\/mediamikes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/IF.avif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1400\" height=\"700\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mediamikes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/IF.avif 1400w, https:\/\/mediamikes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/IF-300x150.avif 300w, with a script that is both funny and touching, the cast deliver strong performances.\u00a0 Reynolds has always come off as a naturally friendly guy and he brings that quality to Cal.\u00a0 Fleming is equally good.\u00a0 Bea is a young girl with young girl feelings and she is allowed to explore and expose all of the emotions a child in her position can face.\u00a0 As Blue, Carell adds another great animated vocal performance to his resume.\u00a0 He is joined by an A-list cast of vocal talents including Bradley Cooper, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Emily Blunt and Keegan-Michael Key.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Overall, the film is a sweet story that will make you laugh and, happily, cry.\u00a0 With the summer blockbuster season about to begin, \u201cIF\u201d is a true family film that I hope doesn\u2019t get lost at the multiplex.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>On a scale of zero to five I give \u201cIF\u201d
