WildCard Distr. in the UK has revealed the official trailer for a killer, unforgettable, energetic new rap musical film from Ireland called Kneecap<\/em><\/strong>. It premiered at Sundance earlier this year and received near universal acclaim (it ended up on my Top 10 Best of the Fest list<\/a>). This film is legit! So good! Based on the origin story of the riotous and ground-breaking Irish-language rap trio Kneecap<\/strong>, the film stars the band’s original members Mo Chara<\/strong>, M\u00f3gla\u00ed Bap<\/strong>, and DJ Pr\u00f3va\u00ed<\/strong> (also known as Liam \u00d3g \u00d3 hAnnaidh, Naoise \u00d3 Caireall\u00e1in, JJ \u00d3 Dochartaigh) in their acting debuts alongside Oscar-nominated actor Michael Fassbender<\/strong>, with Simone Kirby<\/strong>, Jessica Reynolds<\/strong>, Fionnuala Flaherty<\/strong>, and Josie Walker<\/strong>. Set in west Belfast in 2019, it chronicles how fate brings the trio together and how they then go on to “change the sound of Irish music forever”.
