Cadillac is slated to produce two limited-edition Blackwing models in celebration of its Le Mans racing history. The CT5-V Blackwing and CT4-V Blackwing special editions, each featuring unique styling, commemorate the 75th anniversary of Cadillac’s unforgettable entries at the 1950 24 Hours of Mans and will be available to order later this year.<\/p>\n

The two special editions, dubbed “Le Monstre,” based on the CT5-V Blackwing, and \u201cPetit Pataud\u201d for the CT4-V Blackwing platform, are a nod to the two Cadillac Series 61 coupes that the automaker raced under the Cunningham banner. Driver Petit Pataud piloted the stock model while Briggs Cunningham and Phil Walters drove Le Monstre, an odd-looking heavily modified Cadillac Series 61 that resembled the shape of a bar of soap.<\/p>\n

The changes seen with the CT5-V Blackwing Le Monstre Special Edition and CT4-V Blackwing Petit Pataud Special Edition are purely cosmetic. Both feature a Magnus Matte exterior finish with blue-tinted Stormhawk carbon fiber components. Royal Blue brake calipers, Gloss Black mirror caps and black badges tie the look together. The CT5-V Blackwing Le Monstre sports a number “2” inlay on the lower front doors, while the CT4-V Blackwing Petit Pataud version is adorned with the number \u201c3\u201d in honor of the original race car. Those numbers carry on to each special edition\u2019s seat backrests, sill plate, and manual transmission shifter. Both also wear collector\u2019s series B-pillar plaques and serial numbers.<\/p>\n

Cadillac tells us we can expect production to begin in early-2025. The automaker plans to produce only 101 examples of the CT5-V Blackwing Le Monstre Special Edition and just 50 CT4-V Blackwing Petit Pataud Special Edition models.
