Atkinson will take over for <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/J._B._Bickerstaff\"  rel=\"noopener\">J.B. Before his tenure with the Nets, Atkinson spent eight years as an assistant coach with the New York Knicks and Atlanta Hawks.
