The unfathomable photo, explained"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin-bottom: 15px;\" class=\"type:primaryImage\" src=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/RFK-Jr.-BBQ-dog.jpg\"><\/div>\n<p>Just when you thought U.S. politics couldn\u2019t get any stranger (the <a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/politics\/is-there-going-to-be-another-2024-presidential-debate\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">presidential debate<\/a> was only last week), a new story emerges that somehow outdoes the bizarreness of its predecessor. <\/p>\n<p>This time, the story comes courtesy of Independent presidential candidate<a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/tag\/RFK-Jr\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> Robert Kennedy Jr.<\/a>, whose recent profile in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanityfair.com\/news\/story\/robert-kennedy-jr-shocking-history\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Vanity Fair<\/em><\/a><em> <\/em>article has raised more than a few eyebrows.\u00a0The profile, which was published by <em>Vanity Fair <\/em>on July 2, revealed that RFK Jr. had texted a photo last year to a friend that showed him and an unidentified woman holding what appears to be a barbecued dog. <\/p>\n<p>Unsurprisingly, the photo has prompted outrage online, resulting in responses from both veterinarians and RFK Jr. himself. After sourcing the image, the outlet spoke to a veterinarian who said the skeleton was consistent with that of a canine, specifically mentioning its 13 pairs of ribs and the telltale \u201cfloating rib\u201d found in dogs.<\/p>\n<p>Making matters worse for RFK Jr., <em>Vanity Fair <\/em>found that the picture was texted last year to a friend who was visiting Asia, with the presidential candidate suggesting they might enjoy a Korean restaurant that serves dog on the menu. Responding to the article in an interview on <em>Breaking Points, <\/em>RFK Jr. described the profile as \u201cgarbage,\u201d and claimed the pictured animal was actually a goat he\u2019d eaten while in Patagonia.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He doubled-down on the goat claim on social media, refusing the claims of the veterinarians and metadata and writing on X that <em>Vanity Fair <\/em>has \u201cjoined the ranks of supermarket tabloids.\u201d It wasn\u2019t the only bombshell allegation in the profile, with <em>Vanity Fair <\/em>also detailing an alleged instance of sexual assault at the hands of RFK Jr., and speaking with family members about his years of heroin abuse.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-does-it-have-to-do-with-kristi-noem\">What does it have to do with Kristi <\/p>\n<p>That case unfortunately also involves a dog, and came to light in April when Noem confusingly <a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/politics\/did-kristi-noem-really-kill-her-family-goat-because-it-smelled-and-chased-her-children-donald-trumps-potential-running-mate-explained\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">admitted to killing her family\u2019s puppy<\/a> in her book <em>No Going Back: The Truth on What\u2019s Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Noem recounted the story over multiple pages, claiming her female dog Cricket had misbehaved, and revealing she shot the animal after it had ruined a hunt. <\/p>\n<p>Perhaps the consensus should be that any aspiring politicians should be banned from being near dogs \u2014 or any animal, for that
