June’s Ipsy Glam Bag came slightly delayed as according to tracking it was just hanging out in New Jersey for a few weeks before finally showing up at my door. There is another person in my building who also receives a monthly Glam Bag so I kind of use her deliveries as a guide for mine and when hers showed up 2 weeks before mine I got concerned. Ipsy customer service was quite reassuring and to use their exact wording “We got you!” when I expressed concern about my Glam Bag going missing!<\/span><\/div>\n

I was quite excited to receive this as I like FAB products! This lightweight, gel cream moisturizer contains vitamin C, papaya, ginger extract and peach micro-pearls that help to visibly brighten for an instant healthy glow. Here’s the thing, this DOES do ALL of those things, BUT man does it burn the skin! It’s not painful, but even for someone like myself who puts her skin through a fair amount of “interesting sensations”, I noticed it right away and when I looked at reviews, other people have experienced this heat\/burning sensation too. My skin looked GREAT though so maybe it is a bit of a trade-off. I still have mixed feelings about this moisturizer, but I’ll keep using it because I liked the overall results. I was very fortunate to have received this bronzer and highlighter duo in one piece because other Ipsy members had theirs arriving in powder form! Though this was bubble-wrapped, the formula is quite soft and probably should be in a box versus tossed in an Ipsy bag that goes through a ton of abuse during shipping! <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Regardless, both the bronzer and highlighter are quite pretty with the bronzer not being too orange on my skin. I received the full size valued at $22 USD.<\/u><\/b><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

This is a 2-in-1 melting body scrub containing exfoliating sugar granules and hydrating rosehip oil, shea butter and tightening caffeine. It even lathers a little bit so I was able to use this as a soap, exfoliator and moisturizer all in one! I also really enjoyed the tropical scent! The ONLY thing I disliked about this product was the packaging because as cute as it is, you can never get out all the product from the opening so I had to hack into the bag and scoop! I received a deluxe mini size valued at $2.64 USD.<\/p>\n

WANDER BEAUTY | Mile High Club\u2122 Length and Define Mascara<\/u><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Personally, I never have high hopes for mascara because my lashes are so non-existent. This Wander Beauty mascara has a precision brush and a water-resistant formula that nourishes lashes with castor seed oil, trehalose (known to lengthen) and peach leaf extract. I was wrong! This mascara worked BEAUTIFULLY on my lashes and gives them so much instant length!! I always use my Dior mascara primer underneath any mascara so while I read reviews of this mascara flaking, I did not experience anything like that and have been wearing this mascara every day since receiving it from the start to end of the day with no issues. I will definitely order this from Sephora once I run out! I received a deluxe mini size valued at $10.11 USD.<\/u><\/b><\/div>\n

JLO BEAUTY | That JLo Glow\u2122 Brightening & Firming Serum with Niacinamide<\/span><\/u><\/b><\/p>\n

If you can believe it, THIS was my sample choice for the month only because I’d rather have skincare in my Glam Bag than anything else. I’ve used this serum before and found it to be a pleasant niacinamide option. It is a bit expensive at regular price so I have never purchased as a full size from Sephora, but the full size was available for $12 USD as an Ipsy Add-On vs. $107 CDN at Sephora. Big price difference right?! I received a deluxe mini valued at $13.17 USD.<\/u><\/b><\/div>\n

Final verdict: <\/b>Factoring in the exchange rate, June’s Ipsy Glam Bag was valued at $67.38 CDN which is more than the $28 CDN (including shipping) I paid although this is one of those cases where I think the full size bronzer\/highlighter duo for $22 USD wasn’t really worth the price tag. I feel this product inflated the true value of the Ipsy bag, but this is a fairly common thing that happens in subscription services like this one. On the positive side, I did come away with a new favourite mascara! <\/p>\n
