Their livelihoods depend on free expression, yet most are stone silent on the subject.<\/p>\n<p>The exceptions include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bill Maher<\/li>\n<li>Joe Rogan<\/li>\n<li>Rob Schneider<\/li>\n<li>John Cleese<\/li>\n<li>Nick Searcy&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And, to a lesser extent, both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodintoto.com\/jennifer-lawrence-comedy-woke-eva-longoria\/\">Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, a gaggle of stars is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/lifestyle\/arts\/ariana-grande-garbage-natasha-lyonne-open-letter-book-bans-1235592695\/\"  rel=\"noopener\">skewering so-called &#8220;book bans&#8221;<\/a> happening across the nation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Upwards of 175 actors, musicians, authors, comedians, reality stars, models, media personalities, academics, activists and more have signed the open letter spearheaded by Reading Rainbow host LeVar Burton and published Tuesday via public advocacy organization and political action committee MoveOn Political Action.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s your first clue the mission is politically motivated. MoveOn.org is a progressive body that promotes Democratic causes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/podcasts.apple.com\/us\/podcast\/the-hollywood-in-toto-podcast-w-christian-toto\/id1186449155\"  rel=\"noopener\"><strong>HATE WOKE? YOU&#8217;LL LOVE THE HOLLYWOOD IN TOTO PODCAST<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Why make censorship a political matter?<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s why.<\/p>\n<p>One, many of the &#8220;book bans&#8221; in question involved sexually graphic tomes that have no business being in a school setting. The Left, the former champions of free expression, now favors hate speech restrictions and looks the other way as the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/09\/20\/how-dr-jay-bhattacharya-beat-biden-administration-censorship\/\"  rel=\"noopener\">U.S. government censors American citizens.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-admin-pressured-fb-to-suppress-daily-wire-content-push-users-to-legacy-outlets-newly-released-docs\"  rel=\"noopener\">A lot.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The next time you watch college students shout down a conservative speaker consider which party they call home.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s only one answer. Big Tech censorship? The Biden administration&#8217;s censorship regime? Attacks on comedians for telling the &#8220;wrong&#8221; jokes?<\/p>\n<p>None, to this reporter&#8217;s knowledge.
