It goes without saying that he was highly respected in the industry.<\/p>\n<p>Sadly, on Aug. 9, 2024, he passed away in Concord, Massachusetts, at the age of 75.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-did-kevin-sullivan-die\">How did Kevin Sullivan die?<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Just heard that Kevin \u201cSully\u201d Sullivan has passed away. I immediately called him, and I talked about it on an interview I did with <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CodyRhodes?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@CodyRhodes<\/a>.\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/sdbVZNJHzX\">pic.twitter.com\/sdbVZNJHzX<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Diamond Dallas Page (@RealDDP) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RealDDP\/status\/1821902136588038285?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 9, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">As per the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-sun.com\/sport\/12154241\/kevin-sullivan-wrestler-wwe-wcw\/\"  rel=\"noopener\"><em>US Sun<\/em><\/a>, Kevin Sullivan died after suffering an accident in <\/span>May 2024 that led to a series of complications he never recovered from, including sepsis and encephalitis (as per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/help-wrestling-legend-kevin-sullivan-recover\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the GoFundMe page<\/a> set up to aid his recovery).<\/p>\n<p>He had undergone surgery to help him, but the accident reportedly affected his ability to function independently, and it&#8217;s believed that a blood clot ultimately killed him.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement issued to <em><a href=\"https:\/\/slamwrestling.net\/index.php\/2024\/08\/09\/kevin-sullivan-dead-at-74\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Slam Wrestling<\/a><\/em>, Sullivan&#8217;s long-time friend Barry Rose confirmed the news of his passing.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-quote-icon is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;With the heaviest of hearts, we are devastated to have to report the passing of the legendary Kevin Sullivan.
