He refers to himself as centrist while rejecting the label of &#8220;conservative firebrand&#8221; that many have placed on him. Woods pinpoints his political stance as being one that&#8217;s loyal to the U.S. Constitution.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"JAMES WOODS  and Gay Marriage?\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IsUL_neyqvs?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1&#038;%23038;origin=https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Despite his popularity, he gave a recent interview that few are talking about, at least in regards to a surprising confession.<\/p>\n<p>Woods did an extensive interview on the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/celebrities\/oh-god-charlize-would-end-you-there-are-no-doubts-who-would-win-after-megyn-kelly-challenges-charlize-theron-for-supporting-drag-queens\/\">Megyn Kelly<\/a> Show<\/em> podcast, and made many ears prick up when he said, &#8220;What I&#8217;m about to say is gonna shock you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>No, it wasn&#8217;t the usual political talking points sprinkled with heavier emphasis on something we&#8217;ve all heard before. It really was shocking, but in a very good way.<\/p>\n<p>What was Woods&#8217; confession? <\/p>\n<p>He stated, &#8220;I&#8217;m gonna lose a million followers on Twitter right now. I love <a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/celebrities\/if-youre-over-a-certain-age-you-dont-have-what-it-takes-whoopi-goldberg-lashes-out-at-democrats-for-their-handling-of-joe-bidens-presidential-step-down\/\">Whoopi Goldberg<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"James Woods on Staying Friends with Hollywood Liberals, His Extraordinary Career, &amp; Love of America\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ef6yQoegDBA?start=269&#038;feature=oembed&#038;%23038;enablejsapi=1&#038;%23038;origin=https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Woods immediately followed it up by saying,&#8221;I hate her politics,&#8221; before further explaining his love for Goldberg while on the set of the 1996 movie <em>Ghosts of Mississippi<\/em>. &#8220;Whoopi and I had the best time together. She was such a sweet person. We became great friends.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As if James Woods&#8217; appreciation for <em><a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/politics\/bizarre-strategy-3-months-out-the-view-co-host-alyssa-farah-griffin-explains-why-donald-trumps-interview-with-elon-musk-gains-him-nothing\/\">The View<\/a><\/em> host wasn&#8217;t enough of a shocking confession for one interview, Woods smacked us all with one more expression of love for another Democrat that, like Woods, is hugely popular on X.<\/p>\n<p>Megyn Kelly actually brought it up when she told Woods that she heard that he and <a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/celebrities\/rob-reiner-shares-his-thoughts-on-bidens-presidency-george-clinton-emphatically-agrees\/\">Rob Reiner<\/a> were friends. Woods quickly stated, &#8220;Oh, I love Rob!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He explained his point of view about his friend, saying, &#8220;Rob Reiner is a patriot. And by that I mean he is passionate about ideas that he believes in.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Reiner, who actually directed the aforementioned film <em>Ghosts of Mississippi<\/em> as well as other major hits like <em>When Harry Met Sally<\/em>, earned Woods\u2019 admiration. The actor said of Reiner, &#8220;He truly cares about this country.&#8221; while also specifying, &#8220;I think he&#8217;s very wrong about a lot of his social aggressive ideas but he&#8217;s entitled to that.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Ghosts of Mississippi - Trailer #2\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nm8plXv5Yck?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1&#038;%23038;origin=https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Perhaps the biggest point of the interview for Woods, or at least the one that most people need to hear, is when he said, &#8220;What&#8217;s magnificent about this country is that Rob Reiner and I can be friends and completely disagree on just about everything!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Certainly, Woods&#8217; interview has a lesson \u2014 intentional or not. Just because people might have conflicting politics doesn&#8217;t mean they can&#8217;t get along. In this political landscape, it certainly seems easier said than done. Though, maybe it shouldn&#8217;t be.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We don&#8217;t have to hate each other,&#8221; James Woods explained, reminding everyone not to lose <em>who<\/em> you care about because of expressing <em>what<\/em> you care about.<\/p>\n<p>Love over hate is nothing new but it doesn&#8217;t hurt to be reminded of it, especially in an election
