Sometimes we all suffer from sequel and reboot fatigue (with the rare exception of Shrek 5<\/a><\/em>, because I love onions), but Quentin Tarantino<\/a><\/strong> has officially declared which franchise he refuses to invest in moving forward.<\/p>\n

The Pulp Fiction <\/em>director was recently interviewed on Bill Maher\u2019s Club Random Podcast<\/em>, where he revealed that despite his enjoyment of the first three entries, he will not watch the fourth or upcoming fifth installment of the Toy Story <\/em>franchise. <\/em>\u201cI have no desire to see the fourth one,\u201d Tarantino said of the most recent entry<\/a>, which arrived in 2019.\u00a0\u201cYou ended the story as perfect as you could, so I don’t care if it’s good, I’m done.” While that might dash the dreams of any Toy Story <\/em>fan who vehemently believes their stuffed animals come to life when they’re not looking, Tarantino clarified that his decision to abstain from the Pixar franchise<\/a> is borne out of love.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the case of Toy Story<\/em>, the third one<\/a> is just magnificent,\u201d Tarantino said. \u201cIt\u2019s one of the best movies I\u2019ve ever seen, and if you\u2019ve seen the other two, it\u2019s just devastating.\u201d That\u2019s right folks, even a director who has an almost vampiric attraction to gore can be moved by a bunch of toys on their way to an incinerator<\/a> (trigger warning), but he\u2019s not about to invest in Toy Story<\/em> 4<\/em>\u2019s Forky.\u00a0<\/p>\n
