for the lateness of this review but, after writing 15 years of MCU film reviews right before they open, I always have to preface them with NO SPOILERS!\u00a0\u00a0So I waited until I\u2019m pretty sure everyone that wanted to see the film (and with a BILLION DOLLARS at the box office, that\u2019s pretty much everyone) had so I could have some fun and talk about some of the things I really loved about the film.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv6473837059ydp3c4ee04cMsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"yiv6473837059ydp3c4ee04cMsoNormal\">We meet our \u201chero,\u201d Wade Wilson (Reynolds) in mid-narration, explaining that he is on a mission to find, and work with, Wolverine (Jackman), assuming that he really did not die in the film \u201cLogan.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0Bad luck, buddy.\u00a0\u00a0All that remains is an adamantium skeleton, which he puts to good use.\u00a0\u00a0Dejected he returns home only to be summoned by a mysterious agency who offers him the chance to save his world.\u00a0\u00a0Cue the music.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv6473837059ydp3c4ee04cMsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"yiv6473837059ydp3c4ee04cMsoNormal\">Hilariously funny, and exceedingly violent, \u201cD&amp;W\u201d is, literally, the film that Marvel fans have clamored for over the years.\u00a0\u00a0And the wait was well worth it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv6473837059ydp3c4ee04cMsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"yiv6473837059ydp3c4ee04cMsoNormal\"><strong>IF YOU HAVEN\u2019T SEEN THE FILM, SCROLL DOWN TO THE WRAP UP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv6473837059ydp3c4ee04cMsoNormal\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-144025\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/mediamikes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/deadpool1.jpg?resize=299%2C168&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"299\" height=\"168\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/mediamikes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/deadpool1.jpg?w=299&amp;ssl=1 299w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/mediamikes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/deadpool1.jpg?resize=150%2C84&amp;ssl=1 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 299px) 100vw, 299px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv6473837059ydp3c4ee04cMsoNormal\">\u00a0Traveling to different worlds (the MCU has actively embraced the Multiverse), Deadpool encounters several Wolverines \u2013 big ones, small ones, one who looks a lot like Henry Cavill!\u00a0\u00a0Finally finding the one he wants, he does his best to convince him to come with him on his mission.\u00a0\u00a0Along the way they run into a lot of MCU characters, both past and present, including Johnny Storm (Chris Evans), Electra (Jennifer Garner), Blade (Wesley Snipes) and, in what I hope is a teaser for a stand alone film, Gambit (Channing Tatum).\u00a0\u00a0They decide to team up to defeat the villainous Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin), who seems to really delight in her own evilness.\u00a0\u00a0As the group embark on their journey, they also come across various incantations of Deadpool, including Nicepool, Lady Deadpool, Cowboy Deadpool and, the scene stealing Dogpool.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv6473837059ydp3c4ee04cMsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"yiv6473837059ydp3c4ee04cMsoNormal\">The script is equally full of hilarious moments and high drama.\u00a0\u00a0Kudos to the people at Disney who allowed the cast to make some funny, but mean, commentary, with shots fired directly at the studio while showing a lot of love for the lamented 20<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Century Fox.\u00a0\u00a0And the \u201cI Can Take a Joke\u201d award goes to Jackman, who endures barbs about everything from \u201cThe Music Man\u201d to his recent divorce.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv6473837059ydp3c4ee04cMsoNormal\"><b>\u00a0<\/b>Yes, it\u2019s raunchy.\u00a0\u00a0Yes, it\u2019s bloody.\u00a0\u00a0But it also one of the best films of the year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv6473837059ydp3c4ee04cMsoNormal\"><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv6473837059ydp3c4ee04cMsoNormal\"><b>On a scale of zero to five I give \u201cDeadpool &amp; Wolverine\u201d\u00a0<\/b><b>\u2605<\/b><b><span
