The New Orleans Pelicans needed something special to break their early season woes – step forward CJ McCollum. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Heading into their battle of the bottom clash with the Washington Wizards<\/a> the Pelicans were on an 11-game losing streak and were short on confidence. <\/p>\n

One of their former stars Dyson Daniels recently called the side ‘cursed’<\/a>, talk about hitting a team when they’re down. <\/p>\n

However, just when they needed it most McCollum<\/a> stood up with a 50-point performance to secure his side a 132-120 win. <\/p>\n

Their victory does very little to improve their 6-29 record, but it could give them much-needed confidence heading forward. <\/p>\n

McCollum earns praise from coach <\/h2>\n

The Pelicans<\/a> had not won a game of basketball since December 6th against the Phoenix Suns<\/a> before they triumphed over the Wizards. <\/p>\n

They sit with the worst record in the NBA and also face losing one of their star players Zion Williamson<\/a>, who is just returning from injury. <\/p>\n
