The Los Angeles Lakers paid for a bad start against the Houston Rockets and were not able to recover.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The LA Lakers<\/a>‘ road troubles continued with a 119-115 loss to the Houston Rockets<\/a>. And the end result was a lot closer than appeared likely after the first quarter.<\/p>\n

The Rockets raced into a 36-22 lead, with the Lakers’ starters found wanting, and Houston led 67-49 at the break.<\/p>\n

The Lakers came out hot in the third and made a game of it, and part of this was down to Dorian Finney-Smith<\/a>‘s impact.<\/p>\n

LA Lakers fans praise Dorian Finney-Smith<\/h2>\n

Part of the reason for the improved showing from the LA Lakers in the second half was Dorian Finney-Smith coming off the bench.<\/p>\n

Finney-Smith scored 13 points, putting in his best output since being traded to the Lakers from the Brooklyn Nets<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now the Lakers fans want to see Finney-Smith brought into the starting line-up, as he continues to grow in confidence.<\/p>\n

One fan wrote on X: “Start Dorian Finney-Smith,” and another added: “I\u2019ll say what we are all thinking, Dorian Finney Smith should be starting over Max.”<\/p>\n

A third wrote: “He might need to start. Rui has had a great year but Finney Smith does EVERYTHING.”<\/p>\n

This comment was echoed by another fan who argued: “Dorian Finney Smith never misses a rotation man he\u2019s so much better than Rui.”<\/p>\n

Another fan made their feelings clear: “Finney-Smith better be in the starting lineup next game. It is clear as day that he is the better option with the starting guys. He makes such a difference defensively and with his effort\/motor. Redick make that change please.”<\/p>\n

Finney-Smith’s performance generated more goodwill, with one supporter writing; “Dorian Finney-Smith’s value grows every single game, full-time starter soon,” while another added: “Finney-Smith is a difference maker for the Lakers!!!!”.<\/p>\n

Finney-Smith loving life on the Lakers<\/h2>\n

Dorian Finney-Smith made clear<\/a> early on that he was thrilled to be on the LA Lakers, where he has linked up with former teammate JJ Redick.<\/p>\n

Redick spoke in advance of the deal<\/a> how much he admires the former Dallas Mavericks star, and it all lined up when the Lakers pulled off the trade<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There is a good chance Finney-Smith does get moved into the starting line-up<\/a> soon, Redick has shown a willingness to mix up his selections.<\/p>\n

The Lakers are 20-15 for the season, missing the chance to close the gap in the Western Conference<\/a> on the Houston Rockets, who move to 23-12.<\/p>\n\n
