The Dashing will kickstart Jetour’s journey in Malaysia, launching in Q1<\/em><\/center><\/p>\n

Jetour Malaysia had a Chinese New Year media event today and revealed ambitious plans for 2025, a big debut year for the Chery Group brand. As reported in November from the Jetour Global Travel+ Conference in Fuzhou, the brand’s first two models for Malaysia are the Dashing and X70 Plus, which will debut \u2018after CNY\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The latest update is that the bold-looking Dashing<\/a> will debut first in Q1 2025, followed by the seven-seater X70 Plus<\/a> in the second quarter of the year. Jetour Auto International vice president Kevin Xu confirmed that the latter will have a different name for Malaysia<\/a>, as Proton has already claimed the \u2018X70\u2019 name for its Geely Boyue-based SUV. <\/p>\n

All products will be CKD locally assembled after a small initial first batch, but Jetour\u2019s APAC boss declined to reveal the company\u2019s local assembly partner as it is a listed company and protocols must be followed.<\/p>\n

Jetour will rename the X70 Plus for Malaysia to avoid a clash with Proton, seven-seater launching in Q2<\/em><\/center><\/p>\n

A new brand needs more than just new cars, and Jetour’s plan is to establish over 20 outlets nationwide this year, including more than 10 new facilities (3S and 4S) that will open in Q1. KL aside, the new brand’s network will cover key locations in Selangor, Penang, Ipoh, Seremban, Melaka, Johor, Sabah and Sarawak. The company has already secured its supply of spare parts for Malaysia.<\/p>\n

“2025 is a pivotal year for Jetour Malaysia as we embark on this exciting journey in Malaysia. Our goal is to become Malaysians\u2019 preferred travel companion, offering vehicles that inspire adventure and embody our dedication to quality and innovation,” Xu said.<\/p>\n

“With our expanding network of service outlets and comprehensive support infrastructure, we are committed to ensuring accessibility and reliability for our customers. These efforts reflect our commitment to building a strong and enduring connection with the Malaysian market,” he added.<\/p>\n

Established in 2018, Jetour is a brand under the Chery umbrella, but it operates independently of Chery across the globe, and this will also be the case in Malaysia. Separate team, separate office, unlike Jaecoo Malaysia, which is closely linked to the mothership.<\/p>\n

“Jetour\u2019s entry into Malaysia represents a long-term commitment to fostering growth, driving innovation, and contributing to the local automotive industry. With its growing footprint and innovative product line-up, Jetour Malaysia is poised to deliver a year of endless adventures for Malaysian drivers,” Xu said, adding that the T2 and T1 \u2018off-road\u2019 models<\/a> in Jetour\u2019s portfolio will be next for our market, after the two \u2018family SUV\u2019 models.<\/p>\n
