Erivo is an actress who has made plenty of appearances in film and television over the years, however, her star power has grown brightest in recent months after her leading role in the film adaption of the hit Broadway musical, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/reviews\/review-wicked-is-a-triumphant-spectacle-of-music-magic-and-acceptance\/\">Wicked<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to the National Board of Review, Ervio shared her ultimate dream role which, if it ever came to fruition, would see her welcome more <em><a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/movies\/all-x-men-movies-in-order\/\">X-Men<\/a><\/em> characters into the MCU. I know it sounds frivolous but I think we really haven\u2019t uncovered how grand she is and all of that inner-turmoil that she has so, I think there\u2019s a world where we can do something like that.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Given that the MCU is inevitably going to introduce more <em>X-Men<\/em> characters into its ranks, Storm seems like a character that absolutely will show up at some point. With Erivo\u2019s talents, she could very well be a great choice to bring this iconic comic book character to screens for the MCU era.<\/p>\n<p>If she were to be given the opportunity, Erivo would be the third actress to bring Storm to the screen in live-action form. The first Storm was <a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/celebrities\/halle-berry-is-a-timeless-recycle-queen-as-she-rewears-iconic-oscar-dress-22-years-after-historic-win\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Halle Berry<\/a> in the early 2000s <em>X-Men<\/em> movies, but the character was played by <a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/movies\/if-we-offend-men-im-going-to-be-so-excited-alexandra-shipp-welcomes-barbie-movie-backlash-from-the-worst-people-you-know\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alexandra Shipp<\/a> in the more recent movies <em><a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/movies\/x-men-apocalypse-review\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">X-Men: Apocalypse<\/a><\/em> and<em> <a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/movies\/x-men-dark-phoenix-review\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">X-Men: Dark Phoenix<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/X-Men_Storm.jpg\" alt=\"X-Men_Storm\" class=\"wp-image-1419683\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/X-Men_Storm.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/X-Men_Storm.jpg?resize=564,317 564w, https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/X-Men_Storm.jpg?resize=640,360 640w, https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/X-Men_Storm.jpg?resize=150,84 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Image via 20th Century Fox<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Of course, there\u2019s no way of knowing what Disney\u2019s plans for the character would be if she was added to the MCU, or whether they\u2019d go for a younger or older version of the iconic superhero.<\/p>\n<p>With the success of <em>Wicked<\/em>, casting Erivo as someone in the MCU would seem like a slam dunk, even if that character isn\u2019t Storm. <em>Wicked<\/em> has done incredible numbers at the box office, to the point that it is officially the most successful Broadway film adaptation ever \u2014 and as of right now, it has made <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boxofficemojo.com\/release\/rl1199474177\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">more than $680 million globally<\/a>. The film\u2019s sequel is set to be released later this year, so expect to see the franchise everywhere once again towards the tail-end of 2025.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s always great to see talented actors sharing their desire to join the MCU, and in an era where there are plenty of new characters being added to the mix, vocalizing their dream role could very well be what\u2019s needed to make it happen.
