It&#8217;s time to continue the chop, and the third episode in the series is below. In episode two we saw the crew modify and raise the windshield opening which is a mod that sometimes get&#8217;s overlooked on these cars and shouldn&#8217;t be. Check it out with the link below and you&#8217;ll see why. But in the third episode of this build, they are focusing on the rear of the roof to make it flow. Just cutting the top down doesn&#8217;t make the car look right, as it can be boxy and not smooth like the front of the car wants the rear to be.<\/p>\n<p>So in this one they are cutting up the rear of the roof, reshaping it, and making it ready for the smooth future it deserves.<\/p>\n<p>The Iron Trap Garage crew are never without projects, but this one is special because it feels like it has been forever since they chopped or channeled anything. But that is all about to change with the Mangled Mercury project. It\u2019s time for this rough machine to get some love and that means cutting the top into multiple pieces in preparation for some pretty substantial styling changes. Changes that we totally approve by the way. I mean who doesn\u2019t love a chop top on a hot rod?<\/p>\n<p>If you haven\u2019t ever seen how a chop goes down, this is going to seem a bit extreme, but they have to cut the whole roof off. And from there the roof is going to get cut up some more and then put back together with some new sheet metal as well.
