We’re looking at the 2025 BYD Atto 3 facelift, as submitted by the carmaker to China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. According to CarNewsChina<\/a><\/em>, the submission is in a category of adjustments and updates, where specs and powertrains remain unchanged. A facelift to the SUV known as Yuan Plus domestically, then.<\/p>\n

The biggest change is to the front bumper, where this facelift wears sharp-sculpted ‘cheeks’ instead of the curvy lower bumper element on the current Atto 3<\/a>. The rear bumper has a design that mirrors the style of its front counterpart, and there’s also a new double dash third brake light on the now-curved rear spoiler. Look closely and you might see a more elaborate rear LED signature, which is currently just a straight line.<\/p>\n

On the crossover’s profile, we can see a new trim strip along the wheelbase, plus a new treatment for the Atto 3’s rear pillars. In keeping with the theme, the latter provides a sharper look – this part reminds me of the previous-generation Lexus RX<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The CNC<\/em> report points out that there’s a new camera on the BYD’s front bumper, and this suggests that Shenzhen has enhanced the Atto 3’s driver assist capabilities. In April last year, BYD announced renowned drone maker DJI as one of its ADAS suppliers.<\/p>\n

Launched here in December 2022<\/a>, the Atto 3 has gone on to become Malaysia’s best-selling EV. It was updated in September last year<\/a> – now, we have a sole Extended Range variant powered by a 60.48 kWh in-house lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery for 420 km WLTP range. Charging rates are 88 kW DC and 7 kW AC.<\/p>\n

Other changes include black window surrounds and D-pillars, a BYD rear badge (replaces Build Your Dreams), a new Cosmos Black colour option, Continental EcoContact 6Q tyres (no more Atlas Batman), a larger 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen from the Seal (from 12.8″) and a darker cabin colour scheme. The RRP is RM150,430 on-the-road without insurance. <\/p>\n
