Seg\u00fan cita Reuters, la Administraci\u00f3n Nacional de Seguridad del Tr\u00e1fico en las Carreteras (NHTSA, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s) dijo que estaba abriendo una investigaci\u00f3n preliminar sobre 877,710 veh\u00edculos fabricados por General Motors, despu\u00e9s de recibir informes que alegaban fallas en el motor.<\/p>\n

La investigaci\u00f3n cubre ciertas camionetas y SUV Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra, Chevrolet Tahoe, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon y Cadillac Escalade de los a\u00f1os modelo 2019-2024, equipadas con el motor L87 V8.<\/p>\n

Seg\u00fan el regulador de seguridad automotriz, los denunciantes informaron una falla en los cojinetes que podr\u00eda resultar en el agarrotamiento del motor o en la ruptura del bloque del motor por la biela.<\/p>\n

La falla o mal funcionamiento del motor podr\u00eda resultar en la p\u00e9rdida de la fuerza motriz del veh\u00edculo, lo que lleva a un mayor riesgo de choque. Sin embargo, el informe de la NHTSA dijo que no se hab\u00edan reportado choques ni incendios.<\/p>\n

El regulador de seguridad automotriz recibi\u00f3 39 quejas y una serie de informes de campo de alerta temprana de los propietarios de veh\u00edculos, quienes tambi\u00e9n dijeron que no hab\u00eda detectabilidad antes de las fallas del motor.<\/p>\n
