KLIMS 2024 at MITEC<\/em><\/center><\/p>\n

At today’s Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) briefing on the industry\u2019s 2024 performance and 2025 outlook<\/a>, the carmaker’s club signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Malaysia Automotive Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii) to collaborate on organising automotive exhibitions and motor shows on an alternate-year basis from 2025 to 2028. <\/p>\n

What this means is that MAA’s flagship motor show – the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Showcase (KLIMS) – will run in alternate years with MARii’s motor show, the Malaysia Autoshow (MAS). As KLIMS 2024 happened just last month<\/a>, it’ll be MAS 2025, KLIMS 2026, MAS 2027 and KLIMS 2028 from this year onwards. <\/p>\n

Once every two years is a big deal for KLIMS, as prior to the 2024 edition at MITEC, the previous event was held way back in 2018<\/a>, a six year gap. In recent times, MAS has been an annual affair at MAEPS Serdang.<\/p>\n

MAA says that this strategic approach ensures impactful, innovative events that reflect the latest advancements in the industry while optimising resources and providing industry stakeholders with greater flexibility to plan and prepare.<\/p>\n

“This collaboration represents a transformative milestone for Malaysia\u2019s automotive industry. By aligning the strengths of MARii and MAA, we are creating a unified, strategic approach to organising automotive exhibitions. The alternate year framework enables us to focus our resources and innovation, ensuring that both MAS and KLIMS become flagship events that highlight Malaysia\u2019s leadership in automotive advancements, policy alignment, and sustainable growth,” said Azrul Reza Aziz, CEO of MARii.<\/p>\n

“We are thrilled to join forces with MARii to create an even more dynamic experience for all stakeholders. This collaboration will not only assist the industry players by not burdening them to participate in two auto shows a year previously, but it also increases the scope and impact of our motor shows,” said MAA president Mohd Shamsor Mohd Zain.<\/p>\n
