It seems Anthony Davis’ plea has fallen on deaf ears in the Los Angeles Lakers’ front office.<\/strong><\/p>\n

When the Los Angeles Lakers<\/a> completed a blockbuster trade to acquire Anthony Davis<\/a> in 2019, the expectation was to help them win an NBA Championship.<\/p>\n

Well, AD fulfilled that promise in his first season with the Purple and Gold. But since then, the Lakers have failed to reach the same level of success<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A key reason behind that is the organization forcing Davis to play center. While he has the frame to do so, he played the best basketball of his NBA career as a power forward.<\/p>\n

Anthony Davis has made multiple trade demands to help him<\/h2>\n

Despite struggling with multiple injuries during his Lakers career, Davis has seemingly put them behind him <\/a>over the past year or so.<\/p>\n

Even in the 2024-25 NBA season, AD has been fairly available for the Lakers. But does that mean Davis is happy with his current role? It feels like the 31-year-old cannot wait to play as PF again.<\/p>\n

“Well, defensively, just bringing another big out there, we’ve seen it with Jaxson, we’re a little bit more disruptive. Offensively, it just allows me to float around a little bit more. I only started playing the 5 in 2021,” Davis told Jovan Buha<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He added: “I’d have stretches, but I was primarily a 4. My whole career I’ve been playing to 4 and we’ve seen how I play. I just feel a little bit more effective… But the front office knows that. I’ve told them every year I’ve been here, so it’s nothing new.”<\/p>\n

“Personally, I’m a better play at 4.”<\/p>\n

If the Lakers manage to add another big man to the roster<\/a> before the Feb. 06 NBA Trade Deadline, it could be the final piece<\/a> they need to compete for an NBA title.<\/p>\n
