Lexus has announced a new special edition for the IS<\/a> in Japan called the F Sport Mode Black IV. According to the Japanese carmaker, this is the fourth iteration of the F Sport Mode Black series<\/a> and it will available with the IS 300 and IS 300h, priced at 5.9 million and 6.35 million yen (about RM166k and RM178k) respectively. <\/p>\n

The F Sport Mode Black IV models are differentiated from the regular IS by their forged alloy wheels made by BBS. These are painted black, as are the side mirrors and window surrounds, while a smoked finish is applied to the chrome bits. <\/p>\n

Inside, you\u2019ll find Ash wood inserts on the door cards and steering wheel, which also gets dimpled genuine leather to match the gear selector knob. Elsewhere, Ultrasuede upholstery is used for the heated and ventilated sports seats, while the eight-inch digital instrument cluster has a new welcome display. Rear side airbags and a panoramic view monitor also come as standard. <\/p>\n

The IS range also gets a few updates for the 2025 model year, starting with the IS 500<\/a> that gains new genuine leather upholstery options in either black, white or red. The high-performance variant also gets the same black-painted side mirrors with a smoked finish. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the hybrid IS 300h is equipped with an external power supply attachment (AC 100V, 1,500W) so owners won\u2019t need to worry about the intrusion of foreign objects or water when using the outlet to power accessories outside the vehicle. The standard IS line-up is priced from 4.81 million to 8.5 million yen (RM135k to RM239k). <\/p>\n

In terms of powertrains, the F Sport Mode Black IV models see no improvements to their outputs. The IS 300 maintains its 8AR-FTS 2.0 litre turbocharged inline-four petrol unit making 245 PS (241 hp or 180 kW) from 5,200 to 5,800 rpm and 350 Nm of torque from 1,650 to 4,400 rpm, with an eight-speed Sports Direct Shift (SPDS) automatic transmission sending drive to the rear wheels. <\/p>\n

The IS 300h features a 2.5 litre naturally-aspirated inline-four making 178 PS (176 hp or 131 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 221 Nm from 4,200 to 4,800 rpm, with electrical assistance coming in the form of a 1KM motor rated at 143 PS (141 hp or 105 kW) and 300 Nm. An electric continuously variable transmission (E-CVT) is used for this powertrain that has a total system output of 220 PS (217 hp or 162 kW). <\/p>\n

Lastly, the IS 500, which is one of a few remaining cars to use the 2UR-GSE, maintains its 5.0 litre naturally-aspirated V8 with 481 PS (475 hp or 354 kW) at 7,100 rpm and 535 Nm at 4,800 rpm. This gets the same eight-speed SPDS driving the rear wheels.<\/p>\n
