Los Angeles Lakers head coach seemingly blamed his team’s near-embarrassing defeat on hectic travel.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The LA Lakers<\/a> started the first quarter against the Charlotte Hornets<\/a> with a scoring outburst, led by none other than Anthony Davis<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In fact, the 17-time NBA champions led by as many as 23 points. However, as the game progressed, the Lakers allowed the Hornets to cut their lead.<\/p>\n

After four quarters, the Lakers still pulled away with a win, but the final score stood at 112-107, a mere five-point win.<\/p>\n

JJ Redick on the Lakers’ ‘mental errors’ vs Hornets<\/h2>\n

Considering the Hornets are the 14th seed in the Eastern Conference<\/a>, no one expected them to defeat the in-form Purple and Gold.<\/p>\n

The result became clearer when LaMelo Ball<\/a> was ruled out of the matchup due to an ankle sprain in the second quarter. Despite that, the Hornets almost eradicated the Lakers’ big lead and stole a win from the Western Conference<\/a> juggernauts.<\/p>\n

“We played hard for four quarters. Now, it was not pretty, but we played hard for four quarters. I think for me, we made a lot of mental errors tonight,” JJ Redick said after the game.<\/p>\n

“I don’t know if that’s coming off Saturday and the long flight yesterday and getting acclimated to the East Coast time but felt a little bit of brain fog less so than the guys just not playing [hard],” coach Redick added.<\/p>\n

Considering the Lakers are a Western Coast team going on a road trip to the opposite end of the country can be tricky.<\/p>\n

Either way, they are now scheduled to take on the Philadelphia 76ers<\/a> as part of a back-to-back matchup. Fans will hope that the team is well-rested and can extend its winning streak.<\/p>\n
