The Lucid Gravity SUV is the first vehicle available with Tesla’s NACS port installed natively.<\/p>\n

Notably, Lucid has fitted this charge port on the rear driver-side fender, which is the same place Tesla locates its charge ports. This standardized placement should mean more convenience for Lucid Gravity owners as they will not need to take up multiple spots or park at awkward angles to be able to plug in.<\/p>\n

Starting January 31st, Lucid Gravity owners will gain access to Tesla’s Supercharger network. Lucid Air owners are scheduled to gain access in the second quarter of this year as well, presumably using an adaptor to do so, with more info coming at a later date.<\/p>\n

Of course, DC fast charging is only as fast as the vehicle allows, and here, the Lucid Gravity delivers with charging rates of up to 400 kW on a compatible charger. This makes it capable of adding around 200 miles of range to its 123 kWh battery in just 12 minutes. The Gravity is rated at 450 miles of range on a full charge.<\/p>\n

For reference, Tesla’s current Supercharger stations are capable of charging at speeds up to 250 kWs, though V4 stations will soon be updated to support charging speeds of up to 500 kW.<\/p>\n

To achieve this class-leading charging performance, Lucid has developed its proprietary technology that utilizes the Gravity’s rear motor. Lucid explained, “To enable this superlative charging performance, Lucid developed and patented an innovative technology employing our proprietary rear motor drive unit to boost the charging voltage of 500V to match the 926V of the Lucid battery pack. Unlike the pack splitting solutions used by some competitors, this high-tech solution permits charging with the highest voltage that a charging station is capable of outputting and therefore enables the efficient utilization of electrical current and consequent reduction of cable heat. This novel technology allows full compatibility with 500V and 1000V charging networks, offering Lucid Gravity customers maximum charging speed on whatever charger is most accessible. At peak charging rates, the Lucid Gravity sustains a robust charging curve, adding 200 miles in less than 12 minutes.”<\/p>\n

The Lucid Gravity comes with both CCS1 to NACS and SAE J1772 to NACS adapters, including the first CCS1 adapter rated for charging at 500A with 1000V. This adapter allows the Gravity to charge at speeds of up to 400 kW using a CCS1 connector at a fast charger through the standard NACS port. Gravity also arrives with standard bi-directional charging support and can even provide power to another EV with the appropriate connectors.<\/p>\n

The Lucid Gravity SUV, which began deliveries in late 2024, is the next step in the brand’s expansion, with a new, smaller, less expansive model, rumored to be named the Lucid Earth<\/a>, due to arrive in 2026.<\/p>\n
