The Sacramento Kings are set for an unwanted basketball divorce with De’Aaron Fox.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As initially revealed by ESPN\u2019s Shams Charania, the Sacramento Kings<\/a> are now determined to cut their ties with De’Aaron Fox<\/a> ahead of the trade deadline, showing a willingness to listen to offers from other rival teams.<\/a><\/p>\n

As Fox remained reluctant to recommit himself to a long-term extension with the franchise, which he previously explained<\/a>, Sacramento is desperate to capitalize right now to get the best possible return for the All-Star guard.<\/p>\n

Fox is scheduled to head into free agency in 2026, and the Kings would rather trade him now than lose him for nothing with several possible teams being their logical partners for a deal.<\/a><\/p>\n

As the Kings have suddenly entered the trade market with full intent in dealing Fox away, many fans have perceived that the Miami Heat<\/a> could perhaps help them out.<\/p>\n

The Kings have a similar sense of urgency with the Heat, who are presently embroiled and looking to end their long-standing drama<\/a> with Jimmy Butler<\/a>, who now serves his third team suspension<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Amid intrigue by some for a potential straight Butler-Fox swap between the Kings and the Heat, ESPN\u2019s Brian Windhorst argued in The Hoop Collective Podcas<\/a>t that a transaction between both sides involving the two league stars is far from reality.<\/p>\n

According to the NBA analyst, Butler is not interested in the Sacramento Kings, and there is little interest in the team’s part either.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs of the recording of this podcast, I do not believe that Jimmy Butler going to Sacramento is part of the option here,\u201d Windhorst said. \u201cI have my reasons for that.”<\/p>\n

While he added that the situation ‘could change’, Windhorst further noted: \u201cThere’s not been discussion, I think, with the Butler side. Not that that’s absolutely vital, but I can just leave it at that.”<\/p>\n

He added: “I don’t think Jimmy Butler is what the Kings are looking for.\u201d<\/p>\n
