Emilia P\u00e9rez<\/a><\/em><\/strong>\u2019s awards journey is riddled with controversy. Now, Karla Sofia Gasc\u00f3n<\/a><\/strong>, the Best Actress nominee for the musical, is adding more fuel to the fire \u2014 this time for possibly breaking a sacred Oscar rule.<\/p>\n

In an interview with the Brazilian magazine Folha de S\u00e3o Paulo<\/em>, Gasc\u00f3n accused Fernanda Torres\u2019s team of attempting to sabotage Emilia Perez<\/em>\u2019s already tainted reputation<\/a> by speaking negatively about the film. \u201cI have never, at any point, said anything bad about Fernanda Torres or her movie. However, there are people working with her who are tearing me and Emilia P\u00e9rez<\/em> down. That says more about their movie than mine.\u201d<\/p>\n

Karla Sofia Gascon could have potentially broken an #Oscars<\/a> rule by trying to harm the image of her competitor, Fernanda Torres, in an interview:<\/p>\n
