(Gina Ferazzi \/ Los Angeles Times via Getty Images)\">Gina Ferazzi \/ Los Angeles Times via Getty Images<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-lebron-james-plays-down-williams-difference\">LeBron James plays down Williams difference<\/h2>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/nbaanalysis.net\/tag\/los-angeles-lakers\/\">Lakers<\/a> fell to their second straight defeat following a narrow 97-100 loss against the <a href=\"https:\/\/nbaanalysis.net\/tag\/charlotte-hornets\/\">Hornets<\/a>, despite their opponents shooting at just 36%. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nbaanalysis.net\/tag\/luka-doncic\/\">Luka Doncic<\/a> is now off of his minutes cap and dropped a 14-11-8 display but Kendrick Perkins has suggested <a href=\"https:\/\/nbaanalysis.net\/kendrick-perkins-reveals-timeline-for-when-lakers-fans-can-expect-to-see-real-luka-he-has-to\/\">it may take weeks before the Lakers fans see the best of their new star<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nbaanalysis.net\/tag\/lamelo-ball\/\">LaMelo Ball<\/a> was the true star of the evening with his 27-5-6 showing, <a href=\"https:\/\/nbaanalysis.net\/fans-are-all-saying-the-same-thing-as-lamelo-ball-puts-lakers-to-the-sword-point-out-major-disrespect\/\">it left many fans further questioning how he did not get a place in the All-Star game<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Williams also showed the Lakers what they could have had as he dropped 10 points alongside 9 rebounds, and LeBron explained how it was no different seeing him in a Hornets jersey. <\/p>\n<p>He said: &#8220;He was never a teammate, he never stepped foot in the locker room. We know that the trade went down but we never seen him so it got back to exactly what it was before, it&#8217;s no different.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-media-max-width=\"560\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">LeBron James said Mark Williams never spent time with his Lakers teammates before the trade was rescinded so \u201cit was no different\u201d seeing him playing for Charlotte tonight <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/WyfOcMV1u7\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/WyfOcMV1u7<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Dave McMenamin (@mcten) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mcten\/status\/1892458399180222511?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow\">February 20, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-redick-critical-of-lakers-offense\">Redick critical of Lakers offense <\/h2>\n<p>Despite their opponents making just 36.3% of their field goal attempts the Lakers did not fair much better with 41.1%. <\/p>\n<p>The side also took an unusual amount of three-point attempts with 51, they only made 15 of them. <\/p>\n<p>While LeBron dropped another 26 points the rest of the Lakers&#8217; offense struggled, they were especially poor when <a href=\"https:\/\/nbaanalysis.net\/tag\/austin-reaves\/\">Austin Reaves<\/a> was ejected from the game, his shooting was a huge miss. <\/p>\n<p>JJ Redick said: &#8220;I don&#8217;t think it was just Austin but that certainly hurt us. Overall we played 39-44 minutes of pretty poor offense and some of that is to be expected. Some of it is sloppyness, some of it is poor spacing, some poor execution. The reason I&#8217;m not going to read much into that is because I think our guys competed tonight and played extremely hard.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich
