Ini ada lagi berita berkenaan pembangunan rangkaian kereta api daripada pembentangan Belanjawan 2024 sebentar tadi. Seperti yang dirancang oleh kerajaan negeri, projek Transit Aliran Ringan (LRT) untuk Pulau Pinang dianggarkan melibatkan jumlah RM10 bilion menurut kaedah kerjasama awam-swasta (PPP).<\/p>\n

Projek LRT ini adalah sebahagian daripada Pelan Induk Pengangkutan Pulau Pinang (PTMP) yang akan menghubungkan Komtar dan Bayan Lepas, dengan 23 stesen di sepanjang laluan 26.8 km. <\/p>\n

Projek ini juga telah diumumkan pada tahun 2016 akan melibatkan laluan LRT Georgetown-Butterworth, yang akan menghubungkan pulau tersebut dengan bahagian utama Semenanjung, bersama sistem tram di Georgetown serta beberapa laluan monorail.<\/p>\n

Pada bulan Mei lalu juga, menteri pengangkutan, Anthony Loke telah memberitahu bahawa kerajaan persekutuan telah membuat keputusan secara prinsipnya untuk melaksanakan projek LRT Pulau Pinang ini. <\/p>\n
