For 2024, Nissan’s most popular car in the US market, the Rogue, will receive a minor redesign. However, the outcome does not alter its fundamental qualities as a mainstream compact crossover\u2014quite the opposite of what its name suggests<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n

As you might expect of any mid-cycle update, the 2024 Nissan Rogue gets a facial and a butt lift. The former has the most impact, as it thoroughly revises Nissan\u2019s trademark \u2018V-Motion\u201d grille. It\u2019s now mostly horizontal slots, with echoes of the former chrome band at each end of each band. It\u2019s far more sophisticated, and works well with the updated front fascia. Similarly, the rear fascia sports a more refined look that\u2019s a big improvement. It also sports redesigned inner taillights, satin-finished exterior badges and comes shod with a new 18-inch alloy wheel design.<\/p>\n

Offered in ascending S, SV, SL and Platinum trim levels, the latter is distinguished by gloss-black fenders, lower exterior and front fascia trim pieces as well as a new 19-inch wheel design and a chestnut brown paint color, should you be so inclined.<\/p>\n

But the bigger news for some will be the addition of built-in Google software on the 2024 Nissan Rogue SL and Platinum as part of a much-needed new infotainment system. It includes Google Assistant, Google Maps and Google Play along with a Wi-Fi hotspot. Intriguingly, with Google built-in, a smartphone does not need to be paired, plugged in or in the vehicle to use it. The software allows for up to five Google accounts to be signed in at the same time. A Google account can even be linked to a driver\u2019s particular key. Thankfully, it\u2019s compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, both of which are wireless on the SL and Platinum. And, just in case you require it, Amazon Alexa is built in as well.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s all available on the Rogue\u2019s 12.3-inch HD color touchscreen on the SL and Platinum, 8-inch on the S and SV. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is now standard on SL grade.<\/p>\n

The Nissan Rogue’s powertrain remains unchanged. It\u2019s a three-cylinder, 1.5-liter, variable compression turbocharged engine, that has an endlessly variable piston stroke and an 8:1\u201314:1 effective compression ratio. In instances of high-power demand and heavy traffic, the low-compression mode is used, whereas the high-compression mode is used for cruising and light loads. A CVT transmission and front-wheel-drive are standard; all-wheel drive is optional on all grades. It has 201 horsepower and 225 pound-feet of torque and can tow up to 1,500 pounds, including 150 pounds of tongue weight.<\/p>\n
