The film, which premiered on Swift\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/celebrities\/why-is-taylor-swift-obsessed-with-the-number-13\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">favorite day of the month, Oct. 13,<\/a> has wormed its way into the same category, critically speaking, as <a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/movies\/not-content-with-annihilating-box-office-records-taylor-swift-streaks-ahead-of-citizen-kane-and-the-godfather-on-rotten-tomatoes\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">two of the most well-respected films in cinema<\/a>, one of which is \u2014 yes, really \u2014 <em>The Godfather<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Because there was so much talk about record-breaking numbers, unprecedented box-office figures, and unlikely comparisons, the talk of the town post-release has been how much <em>The Eras Tour <\/em>actually made. While the movie didn\u2019t blast through the stratosphere <em>that<\/em> deafeningly, it did still soar to massive heights.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour <\/em>made $39 million alone on its first full day in theaters, Friday, Oct. 13, which is absolutely nothing to bat an eyelash at. In total, it nabbed <a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/movies\/were-in-uncharted-territory-taylor-swift-breaks-fewer-records-than-expected-but-still-comfortably-eats-the-box-office-alive\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">$95 million to $97 million domestically and $130 million globally<\/a>. The concert movie currently holds second place as the highest opening in October right behind Joaquin Phoenix\u2019s 2019 Academy Award-winning performance in <em>Joker<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Gone are the days of judging Swift&#8217;s box office impact by her affiliation with the dreadful, Razzie Award-winning film <em>Cats<\/em>.
