He works for ESPN, occasionally filling in on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/playlist?list=PLn3nHXu50t5zKS8ePkzuT_fa6DCUOdhiz\">&#8216;Pardon the Interruption,&#8217;<\/a> and often serves as a studio analyst on Brooklyn Nets games for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yesnetwork.com\/nets\">YES Network<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Isola has covered sports for a long time, but you wouldn&#8217;t necessarily go to him first when it comes to college hoops recruiting news.<\/p>\n<p>But Isola also hosts a morning radio show on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.siriusxm.com\/channels\/siriusxm-nba-radio\">Sirius XM&#8217;s NBA Radio<\/a> alongside former Boston Celtics forward <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Brian_Scalabrine\">Brian Scalabrine<\/a>, who just so happens to have a close relationship with No. 1 recruit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courant.com\/2023\/08\/23\/report-nations-top-recruit-cooper-flagg-to-visit-uconn-in-the-fall\/\">Cooper Flagg<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s what makes Isola&#8217;s comment on the YES Network game broadcast during the Nets&#8217; preseason game with the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday night so interesting.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheFrankIsola?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@TheFrankIsola<\/a> predicts Cooper Flagg to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/UConn?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#UConn<\/a> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s.w.org\/images\/core\/emoji\/14.0.0\/72x72\/1f440.png\" alt=\"\ud83d\udc40\" class=\"wp-smiley\" style=\"height: 1em; max-height: 1em;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust something I heard\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/0XBonPIZLv\">pic.twitter.com\/0XBonPIZLv<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Dan Madigan (@dmad1433) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/dmad1433\/status\/1714087251351597557?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 17, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m going to make a prediction,&#8221; Isola said after bringing up Flagg during the first quarter. &#8220;He&#8217;s going to play for Danny Hurley at UConn.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You heard it here first, folks,&#8221; replied play-by-play announcer Chris Shearn.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If I&#8217;m wrong, don&#8217;t hold me to that,&#8221; Isola said. &#8220;Just something I&#8217;ve heard.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Obviously, this is just conjecture at the moment, but Isola&#8217;s connection with Scalabrine gives his prediction a little bit more weight. Scalabrine has served as a mentor to Flagg, working out with him and inviting the Newport, Maine standout to join pickup games in Boston featuring current and former NBA players.<\/p>\n<p>Scalabrine has also reportedly hosted Flagg at his house during AAU tournaments and keeps in touch with him regularly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cScal is a role model,\u201d Flagg <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sunjournal.com\/2022\/03\/05\/boys-basketball-cooper-flaggs-connection-with-brian-scalabrine-goes-deep\/\">told the Lewiston (Maine) Sun-Journal<\/a> in May 2022. \u201cHe\u2019s someone I look up to because who wouldn\u2019t? Just looking up to him, he gives me tips and helps me get better. I workout with him sometimes and he\u2019s just a great role model.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Flagg visited UConn in late September will take an official visit to Duke from Oct. 20-22. He is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/adamzagoria\/2023\/10\/05\/cooper-flagg-nations-no-1-hoops-recruit-closing-in-on-college-decision\/?sh=11081b735cd4\">expected to make his college
