Toyota Motor North America, Inc. has announced themselves as the latest automaker to adopt Tesla’s NACS charging standard.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n

Toyota and Lexus vehicles will begin incorporating the NACS plug into certain vehicles starting in 2025, one of which will be an all-new, three-row crossover set to be manufactured at Toyota’s Kentucky plant. Toyota and Lexus customers will gain access to Tesla’s Supercharger network of over 12,000 DC fast chargers beginning in 2025. Customers buying or leasing Toyota or Lexus vehicles with the CCS standard will be offered access to an adaptor, affording them access to Tesla’s Supercharger stations as well. Toyota did not mention if the adaptor would be free of charge.<\/p>\n

Toyota and Lexus drivers will have access to a vast network of chargers through the Toyota and Lexus apps, in which they will find more than 84,000 level 2 and DC fast chargers (including Tesla’s Superchargers) in North America.<\/p>\n

Toyota joins a raft of other manufacturers that have already announced their support for Tesla’s NACS standard in North America, including Ford, General Motors, Fisker, Genesis, Hyundai, Kia, Rivian, Volvo, Polestar, Nissan, Infiniti, Honda, Acura, Mercedes-Benz and most recently BMW Group.<\/p>\n

We wouldn’t be surprised to see the last few holdouts announcing their support of NACS in short order.<\/p>\n
