Pemandu rali Finland yang baru berumur 23-tahun, Kalle Rovanper\u00e4 sekali lagi ditabalkan sebagai juara Kejohanan Rali Dunia (WRC) untuk kali kedua berturut-turut, selepas menerima gelaran berkenaan tahun lalu dan mencatat rekod sebagai juara WRC paling muda dalam sejarah.<\/p>\n

Rovanper\u00e4 yang masih memandu Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 untuk pasukan Toyota Gazoo Racing menghabiskan Central European Rally (CER) 2023, iaitu pusingan kedua terakhir dalam kalendar WRC tahun ini hanya di tempat kedua bagi mengesahkan kejuaraannya. CER 2023 ditamatkan pada hujung minggu lalu dengan kemenangan berpihak kepada pemandu Belgium dari pasukan Hyundai Motorsport, Thierry Neuville.<\/p>\n

Sebelum bermulanya CER 2023, Rovanper\u00e4 telah pun mempunyai kelebihan 31-mata berbanding rakan sepasukannya dari Wales, Elfyn Evans. Walau bagaimanapun pertarungan antara pemandu Toyota itu berakhir seawal pagi Sabtu apabila Evans terlibat dalam kemalangan.<\/p>\n

“Saya berasa sangat baik,” kata Rovanper\u00e4. \u201cSaya rasa tahun ini, bagi saya secara peribadi, lebih penting daripada tahun lepas. Persaingan lebih sengit, dan kami melakukan kerja yang sangat baik. Setinggi-tinggi terima kasih sudah tentu ditujukan kepada Jonne – dia juga juruarah terbaik dunia. Saya akan menikmati yang ini lebih daripada yang pertama.\u201d<\/p>\n

Secara keseluruhan Rovanper\u00e4 mengutip 235 mata untuk dinobatkan sebagai juara tanpa boleh dicabar oleh Evans yang berada di tempat kedua dengan 191 mata dengan berbaki satu lagi pusingan untuk WRC 2023, iaitu di Rally Japan bulan hadapan. Neuville pula berada di kedudukan ketiga dengan mengutip 184 mata setakat ini.<\/p>\n

Tiada sebarang pertempuran untuk merebut gelaran di Rally Japan yang bermula 16 hingga 19 November nanti nampaknya kerana juara WRC untuk kategori pengeluar juga sudah sah milik Toyota di Rally Chile 2023<\/a> awal bulan ini. Ini membolehkan gergasi automotif Jepun berkenaan mempertahankan gelaran tersebut sejak 2021, dan yang ketujuh termasuk yang dirangkul pada 1993, 1994, 1999, dan 2018. Menang besar lagi Toyota tahun ini!<\/p>\n
