Riding high on the success of the facelifted version of the Seltos and the updated Carens with new safety features and powertrain combinations, Kia is now eyeing a more eventful calendar year ahead with new product launches. Under the \u201cKia 2.0 strategy\u201d planned by the company, Kia will be launching three new vehicles in the SUV and MUV category in 2024, the details of which are as follows:<\/p>\n

Kia Sonet facelift<\/h2>\n

Much like the Seltos facelift introduced a few months ago, Kia has planned a minor facelift for the Sonet compact SUV. A few visuals of the Kia Sonet facelift have already leaked ahead of its launch on the internet, which show that Kia has revised the front fascia of the compact SUV with new LED headlamps, grille, and bumper. The rear profile will also get tweaked LED tail lamps with an LED connecting bar, much like the Venue. The cabin is expected to remain the same, though it will get new features like a powered driver\u2019s seat. Kia will also make no changes to the powertrain lineup for the Sonet, which includes a 1.2-liter 83 PS petrol, 1.0-liter 120 PS turbocharged petrol, and 1.5-liter 115 PS diesel.<\/p>\n

All-new Kia Carnival<\/h2>\n

Kia will finally bring the fourth-generation Carnival to India in 2024, which is already on sale in other major global markets since 2020. Adding more excitement to this news is the fact that Kia will be bringing in the latest facelifted version of the fourth-gen Carnival, which was unveiled a few days ago. While the heavily updated Kia Carnival will be available with a range of petrol engines globally, the India-spec Carnival will retain the 2.2-liter diesel engine with an 8-speed automatic transmission.<\/p>\n

All-new Kia EV9<\/h2>\n

Strengthening its position in the premium EV segment, Kia will launch the new flagship all-electric SUV, the EV9, in India towards the end of 2024. This new electric SUV is roughly the size of a Mahindra XUV700 and features a futuristic design language and unique features like a 180-degree rotating second row of seats. To be positioned above the EV6 electric crossover, the new Kia EV9 will be offered with both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations. The EV9 is globally available with two battery options \u2013 76.1kWh (Standard) and 99.8kWh (Long-Range), though it is not clear which one of the two will make its way to India.<\/p>\n

More plans under the Kia 2.0 strategy<\/h2>\n

In addition to these three vehicles, Kia is also planning an MPV (\u201cRV\u201d in Kia\u2019s terminology), which will be offered with both internal combustion and electric vehicle versions. This new MPV is expected to fill in the gap between the Carens and Carnival and is expected to take on the other three-row vehicles in this space, such as the Toyota Innova Hycross and Mahindra XUV700. Kia has also made it clear that it will focus purely on SUVs and MPVs, and will not launch any hatchback or sedan in India.<\/p>\n
