An epic saga of war, passion, and power set in Feudal Japan. From James Clavell’s novel of the same name<\/a>, FX\u2019s Sh\u014dgun<\/em> is set at the dawn of a century-defining civil war. Lord Yoshii Toranaga is fighting for his life as his enemies on the Council of Regents unite against him, when a mysterious European ship is found in a nearby fishing village. Set in the 17th Century, it follows John Blackthorne, a sailor who rises from outsider to samurai, while being used as a pawn in Japanese leader Toranaga’s struggle to reach the top of the ruling chain, or Shogun. The novel was previously adapted into a 1980 TV series<\/a>, now with another fresh update.
