This is his 12th feature film, and his latest since The Wind Rises<\/em> in 2013. After opening in Japan in July, premiering at TIFF 2023 during its festival run, it’s set for US release in theaters nationwide this December<\/a>. Go see it!! “A young boy named Mahito yearning for his mother ventures into a world shared by the living and the dead. There, death comes to an end, and life finds a new beginning. A semi-autobiographical fantasy about life, death, and creation, in tribute to friendship, from the mind of Hayao Miyazaki.” With an original score by Joe Hisaishi<\/strong>. Described as a “big fantastical film”, it follows a boy who discovers an abandoned tower in his new town and enters a magical, mystical world guided by a strange talking grey heron.
