One of the more exciting Marvel projects coming up that I\u2019m looking forward to seeing is Thunderbolts<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, which is an ensemble story from director Jake Schreier<\/strong> (The Beef<\/em>). The film has had several strike-related delays this year, but it\u2019s now headed in the right direction, and one of its stars, Wyatt Russell<\/strong>, who made his Marvel debut as U.S. Agent\/John Walker in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier<\/em>, is talking about the project and its promising cast. <\/p>\n

In a recent interview with Josh Horowitz<\/strong> on the Happy Sad Confused<\/a> podcast (via SuperHeroHype<\/a>) alongside his father, Kurt, Wyatt said:<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cWe have not started shooting [Thunderbolts]. We\u2019ve almost started shooting that about 14 times, but not yet.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

While noting that he hasn\u2019t yet read a finalized script for the movie, Russell said he \u201chas confidence the movie is going to be good.\u201d He continued:<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cI know everybody is sort of on this Marvel train right now of things not going so well. The team that they have with us, right now \u2014 you have Florence Pugh, who is arguably one of my favorite actresses going. She\u2019s f\u2014king unbelievable. She can, as they say, read the phone book and I\u2019ll sit through all of it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Complimenting the rest of the cast, Russell added, \u201cSebastian Stan<\/strong>, who has become a great friend, is incredible. David Harbour<\/strong> is amazing.\u201d He also spoke on Schreier\u2019s directing, saying: <\/p>\n

\u201cI know Jake so well, and I know how smart Jake is and how much he cares about making something interesting and different and utilizing everyone\u2019s talents to the best of their ability. The story that I think they\u2019ve come up with is really interesting \u2014 I know parts of the story and how the story works, but I can\u2019t talk about it. It\u2019s not a straightforward Marvel movie as you\u2019ve seen in the past.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Russell concluded:<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s going to be a lot of fun. I think it will be something hopefully Marvel fans look at and go, \u2018This is something a little different.\u2019 As far as we are approaching it, it\u2019s time to go to work a little bit. It\u2019s time to make a good Marvel movie.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

I\u2019m pretty excited to see what this movie has in store, but it\u2019s still probably going to be a bit before we hear much more of anything new. Thunderbolts<\/em> is scheduled to release on July 25, 2025.<\/p>\n\n
