Putting an engine together can be a pretty intense and difficult task depending on the engine and on the tools that you may or may not have. But, luckily, an LS engine is one of the easier ones to work on and if you are talking about the top half of the engine you can put them together with nothing special other than a torque wrench and a set of sockets. These engines go together well, and there are not weird tricks in the grand scheme of things.
