In Darth Vader\u2019s case, that something was writing to him and telling him their fantasies. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Green Cross Code Man - 1976 David Prowse (Darth Vader) - HD 1080p\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/xR7_Bz9fIPA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Of course, I\u2019m talking about actor David Prowse, who played Darth Vader, but I now imagine the character of Darth Vader must have had his share of inappropriate fan letters from women across the Star Wars galaxy.<\/p>\n<p>When Prowse spoke to Robert Masullo for an interview that appeared in <em>The Sacramento Bee<\/em> in May 1980, the Darth Vader character was at his peak in popularity, with <em><a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/movies\/mark-hamill-finally-unmasks-the-mysterious-stranger-who-offered-to-buy-his-empire-strikes-back-script-in-1978\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Empire Strikes Back<\/a><\/em> having just been released the same week. Prowse discussed many things with Masullo, including the fan letters he received.<\/p>\n<p>Most of those letters \u2014 98%, according to Prowse \u2014 were innocent, joyful letters from kids who were fans of <em>Star Wars<\/em>. However, he oddly took a moment to explain that some other letters were \u2026 much different.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Hobbies of Darth Vader: First Date (Featuring Dean Lister)\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_qK4qfWKoiM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Apparently, they were written by women with some fantasies about the dark lord of the Sith. To them, he was their Superman, which is ironic, since <a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/movies\/how-darth-vader-turned-clark-kent-into-superman\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">David Prowse actually trained Christopher Reeve<\/a> for the role of Superman. Thankfully, Prowse didn\u2019t share precisely what those fantasies were, but he did say that the women who wrote them \u201chave some kind of sexual thing\u201d for the man in black.<\/p>\n<p>One can only imagine the words used in those letters, which Prowse didn\u2019t share even with his wife. Although Prowse did often write back to fans, it\u2019s safe to assume he didn\u2019t respond to these letters\u2026 right? I mean, it would be funny to write a response to them as Darth Vader, and ask \u201cWho\u2019s your daddy?\u201d but I doubt that Prowse responded at all.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/306BDF26-CB6D-422E-8CF0-EFE08A3D6E4F.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1647711\" width=\"766\" height=\"492\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/306BDF26-CB6D-422E-8CF0-EFE08A3D6E4F.jpeg 361w, https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/306BDF26-CB6D-422E-8CF0-EFE08A3D6E4F.jpeg?resize=150,96 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 766px) 100vw, 766px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Article from <em>The Sacramento Bee<\/em> in May 1980<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>He goes on to note, \u201cUsually, their letters are quite pornographic.\u201d Along with some detail in their writing, I wouldn\u2019t be surprised if his thirsty correspondents sent some revealing polaroids. Did they write about exactly what they wish Darth could to do them? Perhaps a Jedi mind trick to stimulate their thoughts. Should I continue? No, I definitely shouldn\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p>Yet, I can\u2019t help but wonder if they still sent those letters after the character\u2019s horrendous face reveal at the end of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/celebrities\/im-not-having-fun-what-did-george-lucas-reveal-hed-rather-be-doing-than-making-the-original-star-wars-trilogy\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Return of the Jedi<\/a><\/em>. I suspect that\u2019s when the fantasy ended, as it ruined their desires of mystery. That\u2019s when they likely turned their attention to another tall, dark, and maybe-handsome hunk named Chewbacca.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\"
