I have been absolutely dying to try and review these masks for awhile after seeing Huangjisoo’s<\/b> attractive packaging on Instagram, but the masks were a bit hard to find for us Canadians. I was just about to buy them on Amazon when they ended up showing up in my FaceTory subscription a few years ago and now I have finally experienced why people were talking about these sheet masks so much!<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Created by Dr. Jisoo Huang, Huangjisoo is maybe even more well-known for their various types of oil and foaming cleansers and their vegan Hello Ganic sheet masks which I reviewed last year here<\/a>! <\/div>\n

What makes this mask special? This is a cream mask that is intended to strengthen the skin barrier as well as repair and soothe skin with Centella asiatica and mushroom extract. It also contains shea butter, horse chestnut extract (minimizes redness), aloe vera and licorice extract amongst many plant-based ingredients. This mask is also meant for all skin types including sensitive skin and claims to be made of a microfibre sheet with high adhesion to provide an “ampoule looking effect”. I take this to mean that my skin is going to be very intensely glowy from hydration which kind of turned out to be true!<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Mask Fit: <\/b>Not the best as there were many wrinkles that I had a hard time smoothing out due to the fact that there were multiple and deeper cuts in the mask.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tackiness: <\/b>Medium – my husband touched my face after an hour and commented that I was “sticky”. It did improve after about 3 hours, so my pillowcase was not sticky, but it did take time!<\/span><\/p>\n

Hydration: <\/b>Very good!<\/span><\/p>\n

What makes this mask special? This mask is vegan and is intended for helping with blemished skin and oil control. Looking at the ingredient list, it is predominantly plant-based like the previous mask, but there are interesting ingredients like brightening polyglutamic acid and hydrating squalane. Oddly enough, tea tree oil is way at the bottom!<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Mask Fit: <\/b>Identical to Centella mask in that there were deep cuts and many wrinkles that I could not smooth out, but the mask held and did not lift or move!<\/span><\/p>\n

Tackiness: <\/b>Medium <\/span><\/p>\n

Hydration: <\/b>Very intense. You will not need additional moisturizer!<\/span><\/p>\n

Other notes: <\/b>It does pill a bit.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Final verdict: <\/b>I wanted to like these masks more than I did. I LOVE the ingredients in these masks which is what makes me tempted to repurchase them, but I didn’t love the wrinkles in the mask. They are also intensely hydrating to the point of being tacky for at least couple of hours and the pilling of the essence makes it impossible to layer anything on top (though I don’t think you will feel the need to!). While I wouldn’t write these masks off completely, I feel like I can have nicer feeling skin without the additional little “quirks” of what I experienced.<\/p>\n
