This season, the third inevitability comes <a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/tv\/who-is-in-the-wrong-sydney-gordon-or-maria-georgas-the-bachelor-beef-explained\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">courtesy of Madina, Sydney, and Maria<\/a>. Thanks, gals!<\/p>\n<p>Nothing is more annoying for viewers of <em>The Bachelor<\/em> to have at least one plotline every single season be about an adult who cannot fix their own arising situation with another adult, and thus bring the drama to the person they are most trying to impress. It\u2019s mind-boggling, immature, and almost unbelievable when you consider that these contestants \u2014 who are really suitors for the bachelor \u2014 have themselves witnessed this happen on previous seasons, and must know how bad this bellyaching looks \u2014 both to the object of their affection, and to the audience. These unnecessary conflicts rarely end well, and oftentimes do not make a good impression on the bachelor who, understandably, never ends up thinking, \u201cWow! That woman who took her time to complain to me about that other woman is a gem that I need to keep around.\u201d To make this season\u2019s version even worse, the drama involved a misunderstood statement about the extremely foolish question of whether a 31-year old is <a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/tv\/is-31-too-old-the-bachelor-drama-sparks-questions-about-dating-and-age\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">too old to date the 28-year old bachelor<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Why does this show keep adding these 30-is-too-old plot lines to a show where probably the majority of viewers are women above 30 like<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/TheBachelor?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#TheBachelor<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/bachelor?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#bachelor<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/2NEqVIMVx2\">pic.twitter.com\/2NEqVIMVx2<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Bach Rants (@bach_rants) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/bach_rants\/status\/1752158744606060871?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 30, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Don\u2019t get me wrong, this happens almost every season on <em>The Bachelorette<\/em> also \u2014 and, quite honestly, the men who do this are significantly more absurd than the women \u2014 but it always happen on every season of <em>The Bachelor<\/em>. <a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/tv\/heres-every-bachelor-and-bachelorette-season-in-order-including-all-bachelor-nation-spinoffs\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Both shows<\/a> need this to change.<\/p>\n<p>So, to spare us all from having to watch this happening again, to spare the bachelor from being forced to turn into a referee, and to spare the woman who believes it\u2019s a good idea to complain about such things to the bachelor, here is a new rule suggestion that producers of this alleged looking-for-love show need to implement moving forward.<\/p>\n<p>Keep in mind, I\u2019m fully aware that the producers of the show love drama. They always have people who are just not good matches for the lead, but who can stir the pot with the other ladies. Drama sells. Even though they just finished airing the almost drama-free inaugural season of <em>The Golden Bachelor<\/em>, which had solid ratings and <a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/tv\/why-gerry-turner-is-no-longer-the-best-bachelor-ever\/\">resulted in an actual marriage<\/a>, which is rare for the other shows of the franchise,  even though that should be the goal \u2014 producers decided that the new twist they should introduce to <em>The Bachelor<\/em> is a fairly cruel one.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Madina: is a mental health therapist<br \/>Also Madina: Maria told me that 31 isn\u2019t old and wanted to know who talked behind her back so she\u2019s a bully <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/TheBachelor?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#TheBachelor<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/bachelor?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#bachelor<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/lWPpabWRcj\">pic.twitter.com\/lWPpabWRcj<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Hadlee Boyle (@hadleeboils) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hadleeboils\/status\/1754680109158572507?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 6, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>They gave contestant Lea a date card, but instead of being a straight up date with <a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/news\/he-was-still-coming-up-for-air-jesse-palmer-spills-on-conversations-with-next-bachelor-star-joey-graziadei\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bachelor Joey<\/a>, it ended up being a sort of veto of <em>another<\/em> person\u2019s date. More accurately, it gives her the power to take the place of a woman Joey is going to go on a date with. So, Lea can be the one on an exclusive date with Joey even if he chose someone else for that date. The card is good for one use only.<\/p>\n<p>When Lea received this card, she was emotional for three reasons. Firstly, It wasn\u2019t really a date card for her and Joey, but rather a sneaky way to go on a date with him later. Secondly, it meant that she had to be a bit cruel to use it. Thirdly \u2014 and crucially \u2014 using it would mean Lea is going against Joey\u2019s wishes.<\/p>\n<p>So, Lea wisely decided to always respect Joey\u2019s decisions for who to take on which date and, despite some of <a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/tv\/terrified-of-cats-the-10-strangest-facts-about-the-women-fighting-for-joey-graziadeis-heart-on-the-bachelor-season-28\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the other women<\/a> saying they would have used the card, she burned it in the fire, a powerful demonstration of her admirable intent.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Tremendous move by Lea throwing that card in the fire. Instead, if producers really did have everyone\u2019s best interests in mind, then they should introduce a rule that would likely prevent the women from complaining to the bachelor about each other. Of course, the rule could be that simple: No complaining! But maybe there\u2019s even a better way to attack this issue.<\/p>\n<p>The bachelor (and the bachelorette) should be allowed, on certain occasions, to view footage from the mansion that shows the true colors of those who are competing for them. Perhaps this doesn\u2019t even need to be revealed to the suitors during the first season it\u2019s used. The only issue with this is that other suitors in future seasons might pretend to be better people than they are, since they would know what they do on film can be seen by the bachelor.<\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless, that might be a good thing. It has to be frustrating for the bachelor to see all of the footage only <em>after<\/em> he\u2019s already made his decision to whom to propose. Why not let him see the footage <em>before<\/em> he makes that decision? <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The women in the house, who watched the Maria &amp; Sydney thing,  and just sit there and fail to set the record straight are the biggest losers. Also, if the bachelor has continuous access to the footage, then there would be no real reason to complain, since he could see what\u2019s happening. Also, the contestants could be more comfortable simply spending their respective time with him, without it being about someone else.<\/p>\n<p>This rule would be highly entertaining the first time it\u2019s introduced, since the women would be completely unaware. That alone should make producers happy to use the rule, and to observe how that rule evolves for future seasons would be interesting. <\/p>\n<p>If producers do not use this rule, then I myself may start complaining.
