Amanda Young (Shawnee Smith) is brought on by Jigsaw (Tobin Bell) as an apprentice in the Saw films and is known for creating traps that are impossible to beat, leading some to question her motives and if Amanda was in love with Jigsaw, or if she was betraying him. Amanda is not the first of Jigsaw’s protégés, however, she is the one met earliest in the franchise. However, while Jigsaw creates his traps as a test to see if people have the willingness to live, Amanda is more interested in punishing them with traps they can't beat.
