The five-door version of the 2025 Mini Cooper has been in the works for quite some time and has been snapped testing under heavily yellow and black camouflage once again. It will receive all of the same upgrades as the new three-door model but will be slightly larger and much more practical.
There will be few discernable differences between the five-door and the three-door, other than the fact that it has two extra doors and the wheelbase has been stretched. As such, the new model will adopt the same overhauled front fascia as the three-door and include the same round headlights and sleek LED daytime running lights.

This particular prototype appears to be a combustion-powered model and as such, the front grille is a little different than the three-door Mini Cooper EV that the British firm unveiled a few months ago. The most obvious difference is the presence of horizontal slats running the width of the grille. Hidden beneath the camouflage is the same updated rear end of the three-door model, complete with the same triangular LED taillights and the spoiler stretching out from the roof.
While Mini has shown off the 2025 Cooper in battery-electric guise, it has not yet revealed the combustion-powered models. While this is a little odd, we do know that ICE versions like this one pictured will look a little different than the EVs thanks to the presence of more traditional door handles, plastic fender flares, and clamshell hoods.
Powertrain details about the new ICE Mini Cooper range, including the 5-door, remain a mystery. Chances are that since it will use a different platform than the EV, engine updates could be relatively minor. The outgoing ICE Mini Hatch is offered with a 1.5-liter three-cylinder producing 134 hp and a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 189 hp in the S model or 228 hp in the John Cooper Works variant.
