Lords Mobile, the vastly successful strategy MMO from developer IGG, has teamed up with the Shrek franchise for a two-month collaboration, bringing one of the world’s biggest mobile games together with one of the world’s most popular movie series.
You’ve heard of Shrek. Don’t even try to pretend you haven’t. But on the off-chance that Lords Mobile has somehow passed you by, all you need to know is that it’s a polished fantasy MMO with a wide range of RPG and strategy elements.
It’s also worth mentioning that Lords Mobile has been downloaded more than 640 million times globally, while the total number of hours played is comfortably in the billions.
The Lords Mobile x Dreamworks Shrek event, which began on December 1st and is set to last until the end of January, sees a host of characters from the Shrek universe taking a trip to the perpetually wartorn Kingdoms of Athena.
Those characters include Shrek, Donkey, Fiona, and Puss in Boots, and to make the event extra special IGG and Dreamworks have arranged for Oathkeeper and Shrek to appear as snow sculptures.
Yep. Real life, glistening, looming snow sculptures. You can visit them at the Jingyuetan National Scenic Spot in Changchun, China, if you happen to be in the neighborhood.
It gets better. There’s a special Guild Fest event between December 4th and December 10th (GMT-5), and if your guild makes it into the top ten you’ll be immortalized alongside these legends of the small and big screen.
Back in the game, Lords Mobile x Dreamworks Shrek consists of several different events.
For instance, Shrek’s Adventures sees you searching for page fragments and completing puzzles in order to win rewards such as a Shrek castle skin, collab avatars, exclusive artifacts, and more.
The Far Far Away Shop, meanwhile, will be open throughout the event so that you can exchange your collaboration-exclusive digital items for skins, avatars, emotes, and artifacts.
Other events include Fantasy Faction War, Lords Homecoming, and Adventure Puzzle. Between them they give you the chance to win an Apple Watch Ultra 2, a Lords Mobile Logitech keyboard, an iPhone Pro Max, a PS5, Amazon Gift Card, and a ton of merch.
