Scorpio-n owner disputes Mahindra’s version: Shows proof that SUV was at 50 Kmph when crash happened

Following the recent horrific accident of a Mahindra Scorpio-N, where the owner of the car lost his leg, a new development has been made. Refuting the claim of Mahindra Automotive that the Scorpio-N involved in the accident was traveling at 120 kmph, the owner has shared his real-time speed log data, showing that he was driving at 50-100 kmph instead. He shared the screenshot of his speed at the exact location of the accident and has even challenged Mahindra Automotive to verify it.

Owner shares proof of speed

The owner of the Mahindra Scorpio-N, who has suffered the loss of his right leg, Vibhakar Mishra, has shared the screenshot of his real-time speed on Twitter. In his tweet, he has mentioned, “Speed details from Adrenox real-time log immediately before the collision. Claimed 122 kmph speed (max speed until date) was touched twice, once for 2 sec and another was touch n go to check speed overspeed alert on instrument cluster 250 km prior to the accident, challenged them to verify.”

Additionally, the details of it have been explained by Nikhil Rana, who has shared a video on it as well. In the video, the creator has elaborated that after the accident, Mahindra issued a four-point statement in which the first and the main claim was related to high-speed driving. The company stated, “The connected car server data indicates a speed range of 105-122 km/h during the driving cycle. Operating at a speed of 120 km/h, the vehicle accumulates a notable 1350 kJ (kilojoules) of energy—more than double the 617 kJ recorded at a speed of 80 km/h. This heightened energy level indicates a greater collision severity, thereby elevating the potential risks of injury and damage.”

Following this, the creator explains that the owner of the car has mentioned that this response was baseless and the facts have been twisted by the officials of the brand. He stated that they had no idea as to why the car abruptly turned towards the right side before the accident into an open-ended metal guard rail. The owner has stated that the speed of 122 kmph at the time of impact mentioned by Mahindra Automotive is completely false. He added that before the accident, the speed went down to 50 kmph.

Mahindra AdrenoX log data

The video mentions that Mahindra has only shared a statement with the point of high speed being the main reason. However, the company has not shown any proof for their claim that the car was at 122 kmph. The owner, on the other hand, has shared the proof by sharing the screenshot of the Adrenox real-time log. The creator elaborates that the log data reveals that the car was only driven at 120 kmph for 2 seconds, and it was done by the owner to check the overspeed alert. Apart from this, he added that there another brief moment at which the car was at a 122k kmph.

Mahindra Scorpio-N crash with barrier

According to the owner and the video, following this, the car at the time of the accident was only at a speed of 50 kmph. The creator adds that from the picture it can also be noted that prior to the accident, the car was traveling at a speed around the 100 kmph mark. Concluding the point, the presenter mentions that the owner of the Scorpio-N has challenged Mahindra Automotive to verify this Adrenox log data.

Other concerns that were raised by the owner

The presenter mentions that the owner has stated that the upper ball joint area was a suspected point of failure. However, there were other issues as well. The major concerns of the owner were that the car, when accelerated, made a grinding noise, and it also made noise when the car’s steering was turned by 5 degrees on either side. The owner has also raised a concern that instead of the car going to the police station, which was 10 km away, the car mysteriously caught fire after 6 hours. Lastly, he stated that the attitude of the police officers also changed after Mahindra officials arrived.
