The women’s game has never received this much attention, and a lot of credit goes to the ambassadors of the sport. Caitlin Clark is simply the biggest name in competitive sports, and her upcoming showdown this Friday night against Paige Bueckers and UCONN might be the most watched match-up of the entire March Madness tournament.
Ahead of the big semi-final bout, the Iowa women’s basketball team was paid a visit by one of the biggest stars of their sport — Sabrina Ionescu. Imparting words of wisdom, Sabrina was there to not only encourage the lady Hawkeyes, but to gift them with Nike swag bags that included pairs of the Sabrina 1 signature shoe.
A fruitful career seems imminent for the nation’s best hooper. Currently signed with Nike, Caitlin could very well be the next signature athlete, joining the ranks of Sabrina Ionescu, Devin Booker, and Ja Morant as a member of the new generation of Nike Basketball. Nike is invested in her future as well, launching a nationwide “long shot” ad campaign that was displayed everywhere from downtown Iowa City to the heart of Manhattan.
