Full Trailer for Political Slasher ‘Founders Day’ with Amy Hargreaves

"A gavel-banging good time." What a funny quote. Dark Sky Films has revealed the full official trailer for an indie horror film called Founders Day, opening in theaters this January. It premiered at a few genre fests this year including Popcorn Frights Film Festival along with FrightFest London and the Toronto After Dark Film Festival. It will be slashing the big screen soon. The newest genre title from the Bloomquist Brothers (Ten Minutes to Midnight, Weekenders) marks the reunion of 13 Reasons Why duo Devin Druid and Amy Hargreaves ("Homeland", Brainscan, Wonderstruck). They're part of an ensemble cast that also features Naomi Grace, William Russ, Catherine Curtin, Emilia McCarthy, & Olivia Nikkanen. In the film, a small town is shaken by a series of ominous killings in the days leading up to a heated Mayoral election. It's described as a "political slasher", bringing the corrupt politics of this town right into the plot. Watch out. Watch: Mind-Melting Animated Music Video for Pink Floyd’s ‘Eclipse’

Explore a whole new realm in this entrancing music video from an artist known as "The Insaneum" or just simply Yosh. Pink Floyd is currently hosting a special contest to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their iconic album Dark Side of the Moon. Yosh Bauer, a German artist / filmmaker / animator, took a piece of the song "Eclipse" and created this Mucha-inspired, mesmerizing two-min sequence involving a spaceship & space traveler. It's a fascinating look at just how much can be imagined when you dive deep into animation and let the colors and designs and lines all interact and flow and combine. It's a personal project for Yosh, made entirely on his own in his spare time for this competition. There are many other entries (see here) but this one stands out and it's being featured by many sites. I'd watch a whole series based on this story and this character in this video. Watch out - this is NSFW as there is some nudity. Rock on, Pink Floyd & Yosh. And here's the original video from Pink Floyd's YouTube ...

Ian McShane is an Assassin on Fuerteventura in ‘American Star’ Trailer

"Rule Number 1 – the less you know about the target, the better." IFC Films has revealed an official trailer for an assassin film called American Star, directed by Spanish filmmaker Gonzalo López-Gallego. There are no American actors in this movie, however, and the title is actually a reference to big shipwreck called the "American Star", which really exists and can be found on the west coast of the Fuerteventura island in the Canary Islands – which is where this film was shot and it also takes place. This 2024 films follows an assassin on his final assignment on Fuerteventura, who remains on the island while his target is delayed in arriving. He becomes drawn to the people he meets and a ghostly shipwreck which complicates his mission greatly when the target arrives. Ian McShane stars + produces, with Nora Arnezeder, Adam Nagaitis, Fanny Ardant, Oscar Coleman, Andres Gertrudix, and Thomas Kretschmann. This really doesn't look that bad, even if it's familiar, better than it sounds on paper. Especially with McShane leading the way. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) ...

Guy Pearce & Alex Pettyfer in Vampire Thriller ‘Sunrise’ Official Trailer

"The fields are dying! The land done turn its back on us." Lionsgate has revealed the official trailer for a horror thriller titled Sunrise, from filmmaker Andrew Baird. It was filmed up in Belfast and takes place in Northern Ireland as a UK / US production - opening in January 2024 in the US. An ex-cop, Fallon, roams the land as a creature of the night as he comes to terms with tragic loss of his family at the hands of a brutal demagogue, Reynolds. After he is befriended by a kind immigrant family, the instinctive killer is faced with a choice between revenge and redemption. It seems to be a vampire tale in reverse - should this vamp get revenge on the man who killed his family, or not? Guy Pearce and Alex Pettyfer star in this thrilling tale, along with Olwen Fouéré, Kurt Yaeger, William Gao, Crystal Yu, and Forrest Bothwell. This looks a bit generic and obvious, with some twists connected to Ireland's racism & fear of outsiders and all of that. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) ...

First Trailer for Animated Sci-Fi Series ‘Godspeed’ from Olan Rogers

"Salvation comes in the blink of an eye." Lightfold, a new animation studio based in Atlanta, has unveiled the first official trailer for their debut series called Godspeed. This is the latest creation from the animation filmmaker behind the popular Final Space sci-fi series, and it involves yet another space adventure sci-fi story. Godspeed follows a young woman named Iris, voiced by Bryce Charles, and her adorable karaoke-bot sidekick named Bowie as they navigate the desolate landscape of their crumbling world (sounds lot like Earth once climate change ravages everything). The voice cast also features Troy Baker (The Last of Us), Claudia Black (Farscape, The Nevers), Coty Galloway & Olan Rogers (both from Final Space), and a few surprises. Jeff Nichols’ ‘The Bikeriders’ Has Been Reset for a June 2024 Release

It's official - The Bikeriders has a new release date for next year. A few weeks ago, news broke that 20th Century Studios (owned by Disney) was dumping the project despite good reviews. After premiering at both the 2023 Telluride & London Film Festivals this fall, the film was originally scheduled to open in theaters in early December. But after the two big strikes in Hollywood stopped them from promoting it (with all of the talented actors who star in it) the studio was unable to move forward with their release date. They pulled it from the schedule, and now Focus Features has taken over instead, buying the film from them and setting it for a summer 2024 opening. Now it's confirmed - Jeff Nichols' motorcycle film The Bikeriders is has been reset to open on June 21st, 2024, just over six months from. The impressive ensemble cast, most of whom did their own riding on an array of period-correct motorcycles, features Jodie Comer, Austin Butler, Tom Hardy, Michael Shannon, Mike Faist, Boyd Holbrook, and Norman Reedus.
