Stephen Dorff & Alec Baldwin in PNW Action Thriller ‘Clear Cut’ Trailer
"There's not a chance in hell this guy would make it through the night." Lionsgate has revealed an official trailer for a junk action thriller called Clear Cut, formerly known as Cold Deck. The title is a wildfire term for cutting down trees so they don't burn and spread the fire even further. A team of loggers discover a meth cook site in the middle of the forest and are forced to fight for their lives while hunted by a drug cartel. Set in the woods in the Pacific Northwest, a man crosses paths with a criminal band of madmen from his past intent on killing him before he can fight his way back to civilization. With Clive Standen, Lucy Martin, Jesse Metcalfe, Tom Welling, Lochlyn Munro, Chelsey Reist, Tom Stevens, Mike Dopud, plus Stephen Dorff and Alec Baldwin. This looks absolutely awful - bad performances, bad CGI (all the fire looks so bad), and a derivative polot that will make anyone roll their eyes. Stay away from this kind of crap.

Another Fun Teaser for ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Introduces Sabretooth
"This Wolverine let down his entire world..." Marvel + 20th Century has unveiled a fun 60-second promo spot for the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine movie, which will rock the box office when it opens later in July. This spot features most of the footage we've seen before with one new addition - Sabretooth is back!! It's time for the infamous Merc with a Mouth, Deadpool, to mess up the MCU by getting his tricky little fingers all over this superhero-filled multiverse. Even though this is technically Deadpool 3, he's diving full on into the whole franchise and bringing Wolverine along with him to mess around in the past (and future). Ryan Reynolds stars again as Wade Wilson / Deadpool alongside Hugh Jackman as Logan / Wolverine, and a cast featuring Morena Baccarin, Brianna Hildebrand, Matthew Macfadyen, Emma Corrin, Shioli Kutsuna, Karan Soni, Leslie Uggams, & Jennifer Garner. This funny promo spot also teases the return of actor Tyler Mane as the infamous X-Men villain Sabretooth for a rematch "decades in the making." A former wrestler, Mane appeared in the very ...
Official US Trailer for Korean Thriller ‘Project Silence’ Set on a Bridge
"Every survivor is a target." Capelight Pictures has debuted the new official US trailer for a Korean horror thriller film titled Project Silence, from filmmaker Taegon Kim. This premiered at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival last year in their Midnight screenings, and we posted a teaser back then just before it debuted. The film takes place on South Korea’s famously long cable-stayed Incheon Grand Bridge where a thick fog causes a massive chain automobile crash, causing an overnight lockdown where an unknown beast is unleashed. It still seems like there's multiple beasts, some kind of genetically mutated zombies? Or dogs? What are they after? The ensemble cast features Lee Sun Kyun, Ju Ji Hoon, Kim Hie Won, Moon Sung Geun, Ye Su Jeong, Kim Tae Woo, Park Hee Von, Park Ju Hyun, and Kim Su An. This will finally open in US theaters in July this summer - in theaters same date as in Korea. This does look like an intense thriller, but it's so dark it's hard to see much of what is happening. Such a crazy concept (stuck ...
New Trailer for 4K Re-Release of Doc ‘Burden of Dreams’ on Herzog
"I'm running out of fantasy. I don't know what else can happen now. Argot Pictures has revealed a brand new re-release trailer for the documentary classic Burden of Dreams, one of the great behind-the-scenes looks at making an epic. Les Blank's doc is about filming Werner Herzog's masterpiece Fitzcarraldo, an extraordinary undertaking filming on location in Peru, essentially mirroring a lot of what's happening in the film's plot. This fascinating doc film follows a young, mustachioed Werner as he deals with difficult actors, bad weather, and getting a boat moved over a mountain, all in an effort to make his film. The 4K restoration will open in select US theaters this summer for a rerun right alongside Fitzcarraldo. "Since Les Blank died in 2013 we have remastered & released 7 of his films. The restoration of Burden of Dreams is of the highest quality to date and what may set it apart is the audio restoration, as Nick Bergh worked from the original ¼" audio tapes and created a 5.1 mix," said restoration exec producer Harrod Blank, doc filmmaker and ...
Annecy Review: ‘Diplodocus’ is a Peculiar Meta Story About Creativity
Yet another animation creation unlike anything ever seen before. The Polish animated film Diplodocus is finally finished & ready to wow everyone. It just premiered at the 2024 Annecy Film Festival in the out-of-competition Annecy Presents section. Director Wojtek Wawszczyk has been working on this project for years, and was able to finish it with financing help from the Polish Film Institute. At first glance, Diplodocus seems like another generic animated film about a super cute little green dinosaur known as Diplo, or Dip, short for "Diplodocus" (of course). I've already seen some critics comparing it to Pixar's The Good Dinosaur (2015), though only because the characters look the same. It also reminds me of the 1988 classic The Land Before Time, also about talking dinosaurs. But in reality, it's nothing like either of these films. Diplodocus is exceptionally ambitious. It's a half live-action, half-animated tale of a precocious, adventurous dinosaur and his strange friends hopping through different universes trying to get their creator to not erase them and turn them into cute, easy-to-sell characters. It is a massively charming, ...
First Teaser Trailer for Hong Kong Action Thriller ‘Customs Frontline’
"In the fires of war, no one is a bystander." Well Go USA has revealed an international teaser trailer for a Hong Kong action thriller film called Customs Frontline, made by filmmaker Herman Yau. This recently premiered at the 2024 Far East Film Festival in Italy, and will open in China & HK later in June. It's set to arrive in US theaters a few weeks later in July - for anyone who wants to catch this. Hong Kong customs officers discover an illegal weapons cache on a cargo ship and trace them back to an international conflict. Elite agents go undercover, and uncover a dangerous operation with roots closer to home. A container ship appears in Hong Kong waters and the customs officers board to inspect it. The team, which includes hotshot Chow Ching-lai soon discovers the crew dead and a huge pile of weapons, including an extremely valuable compass suitable for piloting a submarine. The officers don't know it yet, but an international incident is about to blow up (literally). Customs Frontline stars Jacky Cheung & Nicholas Tse, ...
Brutal Trailer for Horror Western ‘Place of Bones’ with Heather Graham
"These are hard men, they will kill us! Dead in the dirt." "Then we better kill them first" The Avenue has revealed the trailer for Place of Bones, an indie western horror film made by Canadian filmmaker Audrey Cummings. This already premiered last year at the 2023 Another Hole in the Head Film Festival, and it also played at the 2024 Kingston Canadian Film Festival. Set in 1876 – a mother & daughter, alone on a remote ranch, fight for survival against a gang of ruthless outlaws. Heather Graham and her daughter fight for survival when a wounded outlaw seeking refuge brings a notorious bank robber and his vicious gang, all desperate to reclaim a stolen fortune, right to their doorstep in this action-packed horror western. The cast also includes Tom Hopper, Corin Nemec, Brielle Robillard, Gattlin Griffith, & Cowboy Cerrone. This looks brutal! So many shots remind me of Ti West's Pearl, even though it is an entirely different story.

Teaser Trailer #2 for Max’s ‘The Penguin’ Series Starring Colin Farrell
"I refuse to let these old men push me aside again. So I'm gonna take from them now, and I'm gonna force them to their knees." Max has revealed an impressive second teaser trailer for the upcoming spin-off series The Penguin, confirmed for a September launch later this year. This is going to kick ass. This streaming series will follow the transformation of Oswald "Oz" Cobblepot (aka The Penguin) from a disfigured nobody to the noted Gotham gangster, after the events of The Batman movie (2022). Oscar nominee Colin Farrell returns from The Batman (loved him in it) as Oz, bringing us his full transformation into the infamous DC Comics villain who gives Batman quite a fright. The first few episodes are being directed by Craig Zobel (of Compliance, Z for Zachariah, The Hunt) who seems like a perfect choice for this. The full ensemble cast also has Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone, Clancy Brown, Michael Zegen, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Rhenzy Feliz, Michael Kelly, Deirdre O'Connell, James Madio, Scott Cohen, Theo Rossi, Carmen Ejogo, and François Chau. Yeah this is going ...
Official Trailer for Netflix Doc ‘Simone Biles Rising’ About the Gymnast
"She's the greatest in the world, but she's also human." Netflix has revealed the main official trailer for a documentary series streaming this summer called Simone Biles Rising, telling the inspiring story of the famous American gymnast. From the same producer who also worked on the "Simone vs Herself" series. The doc series follows Gold-medal winning gymnast Simone Biles as she balances her personal life, mental health journey and training ahead of a highly anticipated return to the Olympics (coming up this summer in Paris). Witness unprecedented access to one of the most powerful comebacks in sports in Simone Biles Rising. Journey into the world of Simone as she grapples with vulnerability and self-doubt, redefining what it means to be a "champion" on her own terms. "While her athletic abilities are unmatched, it's the human component to her story that I'm proud to share," director Katie Walsh states. This is nicely timed to debut as additional programming to enjoy during the Olympics when not watching Biles or other sports. Have a look.

Watch: Short Film ‘SPOTS: A Way of Seeing’- A Skateboarder Analysis
"Why can't you go skate at the skatepark instead?" Ah yes, the frustrating question skateboarders are asked day after day. This clever short titled SPOTS: A Way of Seeing addresses that question with thoughtful scientific analysis. Spots is a short film from skateboarder / filmmaker Daniel Paese, taking a close look at the "spots" skaters choose and what makes them so appealing. It's a visual presentation by Paese's research facility delving into the phenomena of "SPOTS" - showing everyone why they love to skate around on the "wild" architecture of the streets... "The world of naturally occurring spots is so vast and complex, that it is virtually impossible to catalog and define in its entirety." Starring Avery Miller, Max Wheeler, Alex Kehoe, Austin Garner, Chris Landers. I dig everything about this! The narration is fun, the editing is (ahem) spot on, the shots are clean. It really does feel like I learned something watching this. Check it out! Enjoy below.
